In this brief overview, I have included three separate photo galleries that contain pictures taken at vendor booths, the tour of the Dead Acres Haunted House, the Monster Make-up Wars and the Hauntworld-sponsored Masquerade Ball. Overall, more than 70 pictures were posted online for your enjoyment! Kudos to Barry Schieferstein, Kathy Schieferstein, Kelly Collins and Neena Robinson for organizing and hosting this great gathering! In
the absence of the old Ohio Haunted Conference, the Inaugural Midwest
Haunters Convention stepped forward to fill the void. Boasting an
attendance of about 300 people, this gathering got off to a great start of what
I hope will be an annual occurrence for years to come. Located at Cooper Stadium, a baseball
stadium in Columbus Ohio, the Midwest Haunters Convention hosted about 40 vendor
booths, as well as a great combination of educational and social
Halloween-related activities. There was even a behind-the-scenes tour of a new
local haunted house, Dead Acres, which was filled with many Scarefactory
high-end animated props. Haunt owners, actors, home haunters
and haunt enthusiasts traveled from all over the country to attend this grand
event. A good time was had by all.
