2005 Midwest Haunter's Convention: "Picture Gallery #3"
(Transworld Discussion,
Monster Make-up Wars, trip
to Costume Specialists, trip to Scareparts and Auction)
Transworld
Discussion
Haunted House owners and others
from the Haunted House Industry assembled to discuss the Transworld Halloween, Costume and Party show. Greg Steliga organized this feedback session in order to find out what Transworld Exhibits Inc could do to make their convention better in the future. Many topics were discussed, including age restrictions for attendees, registration requirements, seminar content and qualifications for speakers leading future seminars.

Monster
Make-up Wars
Six teams of three competed head to head in a make-up contest, to see who could create the most gruesome and creative creature within the allotted one hour time limit. Even though all of the groups started with identical make-up kits, they ended up creating six completely different monsters.

Trip to
Costume Specialists
On Friday evening
people were bussed to Costume Specialists, a costume shop
near Columbus Ohio. This place had it all. If you came looking for
costumes, wigs, masks, make-up or just about any costume-related accessory, they
had it! This trip was scheduled at an opportune time, as it allowed
everyone to put the finishing touches on their costumes they would be wearing at
the Masquerade Party the next evening.

Trip to Scareparts
Scareparts invited
everyone at the Midwest Haunters Convention to attend a behind the scenes look at their operation. Scareparts
manufactures animated props for Haunted Attractions. Inside they had a well-equipped
machine shop, as well as many gruesome props, at various stages of completion.

The Auction
Props, props and more
props. That is what was up for bid at this auction. Actually, auctioneer Crazy
Bob Turner not only auctioned off lots of props, but a few Haunted House-related services, as well.
