Ms. Scary
Midwest Pageant
The Ms Scary Midwest Pageant was held during the Saturday night Masquerade Party, with Crazy Bob Turner as Master of Ceremonies. Co-hosting the event was Monica Day, a local NBC 4 entertainment reporter and also Miss Ohio 2008. During the event, eight contestants performed for the crowd and the judges, each competing for the highly coveted title of Ms Scary Midwest 2009. After viewing the performances and tabulating the results, the judges
selected the one that they liked the best. The winners of this years’ contest, with their creepy conjoined-twin character “Cannabel”, were Illinois haunters Regina and Brooke Englehart, of
Svenpuss Productions.
The winning entry was sponsored by HauntedIllinois.com.

Scariest Character
Contest
Also part of the Saturday night festivities was the Scariest Character contest. MHC’s panel of roaming judges found ten of the scariest characters at the masquerade party and selected them from the crowd, to be in the competition.
After each actor performed for the crowd, the new Scariest Character for 2009 was chosen. The winner this year was the frightening character “Jimmy the Butcher”.
