2009 Midwest Haunters Convention: IAHA Masquerade Party This year the masquerade party was held in the Hyatt Regency's Ballroom, which was nearly 3 times larger than the room they use last year. The ballroom was nicely themed (decorated by Terror Within) with skull-adorned tables, blacklight fixtures and glowing bubbles floating down from the second floor balcony. Note: While the Ms Scary Midwest and Scariest Character contests were held during the party, they have not been included on this page. For more info about these contests, see the "Contests" section of this MHC review. It seemed like the evening just flew by. Before I knew it, it was already 1am and the "official" party came to a close. After that, the festivities continued on... A large hoard of haunters migrated down to the hotel's second floor bar, to continue socializing until the wee hours of the morning. A good time was had by all and it was definitely one of the highlights of the convention for me.
