2014 Transworld Review: The Price is Fright
The "Price is Fright" was an event hosted By John LaFlamboy of Zombie Army Productions and Ben Armstrong of the Netherworld Haunted House.
Modeled after a popular retro game show, this gala was a combination party and game show.
Contestants were selected out of the audience to bid on a showcase of haunt products and participate in various game show challenges. Those with the greatest knowledge of product prices would advance to the Final Showcase Showdown, with a chance to win prizes worth thousands of dollars.
In addition to the three rounds of the “Price is Fright”, there were free appetizers, a cash bar, live DJ entertainment, a Haunted House T-Shirt Contest and the Vanna Frite Contest.
Prominently displayed on the far wall were several t-shirts, donated by haunted attractions, as entries in the Haunted House T-Shirt Contest. After the winning design was selected, the rest of the entries were distributed amongst the crowd in a t-shirt toss.
In the Vanna Frite Contest, three contestants came in their creepiest costumes to compete on stage for the official title of Vanna Frite Spokesmodel. The winner received a bag of great prizes and was also featured on stage, in the Final Showcase Showdown.
The entire event went off without a hitch, with the exception of one thing. In many of the Price is Fright promotions, they advertised that the ticket price included two free drinks. While this was technically true, after we got there we were told that the drink tickets were only good for beer, which was disappointing for a couple of the people in our group. Perhaps that minor detail should have been mentioned in their advertisements?
That point aside, though, it was another great event hosted by Zombie Army Productions. It was very entertaining and definitely a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy the picture gallery below!
