Visibility/Location: You park in the train station so as soon as you pull up there are guys out there telling you where to go

Wait Entertainment: I still can't believe how well the flow was - the line to get on the bus was moving fast... we pre purchased our VIP passes and therefore waited minimal just as advertised

Length of Event: About an hour

Actor Performance: Excellent!!!

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Slowed down at some points ... even at a stand still but overall was ok

Appropriate Ages: 12+

Props / Special FX: Excellent

Costumes / Make-up: Excellent

Summary: This was the best well run event I have ever been to and I've been to a lot over the years! From start to finish hands down best well run event! The shuttle service was GREAT!!! The drive thru a dirt road in the dark in the woods really set the tone! Barely waited in line as we had VIP passes... the walk thru the woods was spooky creepy and absolutely perfect!! Had SEVERAL "oh shit" moments throughout the walk!! Many scares!! Many scares as well thru the cemetery... was perfect!! Then the house.. again very well run!!! Very well organized!! The scares were many!! It was very smoky and dark and creepy!! It was also very warm so dress light! The only recommendation I wish there would have been is to have the shuttle service included somehow. If there were dead guys or actors on bus or perhaps along the drive - decorations... something to help set the tone... that would have been really cool!! I also loved the photo opp with the zombie statue where you enter the lines!! After its over you go into the store where we splurged on some zombie army gear and hells gate items! After that there's food trucks and bon fires set up!! The wait to take shuttle back was also minimal... truly hands down the BEST WELL RUN AND SCARY HAUNTED HOUSE!!! Kudos to John LaFlamboy and all his crew!! Thank you for giving me the BEST haunted house experience ever!!!

Visibility/Location: hidden well in back along some railroad tracks, we had to go to metra stop and get a shuttle bus to take us all there, it was all part of this haunt, as there is barely any parking in the haunt area itself.

Wait Entertainment: amazing! i snapchatted the whole thing, those guys and girls were fantastic line entertainment, they kept coming around from every corner, and we got multiple visits from each one thru out the entire time we stood in line to wait. all great costuming, very high energy vibes coming from these line actors. props!

Length of Event: 20 minutes inside, 10 minutes outside woods around a half hour total.

Actor Performance: line actors were excellent! haunted woods section actors were very good, too. inside actors some were scarier than others, but overall great effort from everyone.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: this was really my only real complaint. i understand the place was busy, it was a saturday night..and i get that they have to have some sort of first, it seemed ok because they lined us up in single file lines, i thought ok i can deal with this, but then it just got all messy inside when the group behind us ran into us, the group in front of us, etc. too many people, aka conga lines....which i cannot stand, as the actors can only scare so many ppl in 1 given "group".

Appropriate Ages: 13 & up.

Props / Special FX: they have these actors suspended hanging from the ceiling above....super cool and very scary stuff! as for special FX i liked the animatronics and characters that literally jumped out at you. My fav tho was the mean fierce bloody looking dog, you had to walk past it and that dog looked mean and evil as h--e--double-hockey-sticks (censored)

Costumes / Make-up: special mention here given to the exorcist twins. their makeup was insane. i was also overall impressed, with the makeup on everyone. but those twins stood out! crazy horrific faces, with the most evil looking contacts in their eyes.

Summary: Never having been to Hellsgate, we had no idea what we were in for. Which is always exciting. We shuttled, as I said, to the haunt itself from the Metra stop. Then stood in a decent sized line, we got there pretty early, like 715-730pm the line wasn't too long at this point. Ofcourse, the line got huge once 8 oclock hit, so it was a good thing we arrived when we did. The line entertainment while we waited was great! Excellent acting & high energy was brought, so this wait time wasn't boring whatsoever...we waited about 45-50 min total, which in my opinion isn't bad at all for a Saturday night! First part was the haunted woods, a nice creepy walk thru, with green dimly lit & strategically placed fog lights to set a really creepy vibe walking thru these woods, to get to the house.....there was a nice array of actors in this entire area, got a few jump scares here. Which I always love. Then, we got to the house about 10 or so minutes later, & had to stand in another line to get into the house. We waited like 10 or 15 minutes, then they finally let us inside. Special mention to the creepy mummy looking ballerina, she did some cool ballet moves & even tumbled down into a somersault. Loved her creepy vibes! Ok, so inside the haunted house now, we got put into yet, another line to stand in, for about 10-12 minutes, then we got put into another room where they lined us all up in rows...This was the first real scare. It was a library setting, & these twins come out of a high up almost ceiling area fireplace, they both look like the exorcist! Crazy scary voices/talking, & really cool startle scare for the whole room!!! You will love this room, if you are a haunt enthusiast, as it is super original & nothing like anything I have ever seen in a haunt. And I've been to hundreds in my lifetime!! Super impressive first room. Then going thru the rest, many many fun startle scares, & had they not conga lined us thru this haunt, we would've gotten even MORE scares! As the actors couldn't possibly jump scare us, when we had 15 people in front of us who jut got scared by the same actor. You could see everything coming ahead. Which was a major letdown, on certain parts because I live for the startle scare! This haunt was overall great, as being only their 2nd year from what I hear, they have got great potential for a wonderful future ahead..if they could just work on improving the patron flow ,,,,I think this place could be top notch. AS I don'd mind standing in decent sized or even semi long lines, as long as when I get INTO the haunted house, me & my partner (or group) can be let into the haunt by we can FULLY experience Hellsgate for what it's worth.
