|Scare Factor: Medium | Atmosphere: Good|
Visibility/Location: It is right along the side of the highway in Burbank. The brightly lit façade and sign were very easy to see.
Wait Entertainment: The only wait entertainment was the haunted house type themed façade and some scary music playing in the background.
Length of Event: About 5 minutes
Actor Performance: They really upped their game this year. There were a lot more actors and they were very intent on attempting to scare you. I definitely appreciated the increase in scare factor, as other years, the haunted house was quite tame.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: There really wasn't much of a crowd that night, so I didn't run into any other groups.
Appropriate Ages: Families with small children or haunt newbies.
Summary: One thing unique about Frightmare is that they change their theme every year. Their theme this year was a haunted doll factory.
While there weren't a lot of props, there were many "props" and elements painted on the walls in paint that glowed under black light. A lot of their props are repurposed to fit the new theme from year to year, so I find it interesting to see how they utilize things each year.
Overall, Frightmare was a lot of fun this year. $12 is a bit steep for a five minute walk-through, but every minute was fun, thanks to the actors' new-found enthusiasm this year! It is a nice fun event that would be good for families with small children... or adults that just want to have a fun time!
