|Scare Factor: Very High | Atmosphere: Very Good|
Visibility/Location: The location of the haunted house was fairly easy to find. It was on the town square. There was a huge sign outside the building, and parking was all around the block, so it was really close.
Wait Entertainment: The wait wasn't that long at all. I expected longer, and there was a stand outside a local shop with food and hot chocolate. Also, there were people from the haunted house peering out the windows above, which seemed to catch a lot of attention, and kept people excited, or so it seemed. I really liked the skit with the hearse they performed before starting. It really gave it a "creepy" feeling.
Length of Event: About ten minutes.
Actor Performance: They were awesome. And the make up was very detailed. They really looked dead! And they got close enough to scare me, but they didn't touch me or grab me in any way. They were great. Very believeable.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: It was good. Our group was not running into other groups. And the other groups were far enough away that we couldn't hear what was coming up next.
Appropriate Ages: 5-99
Props / Special FX: The illusions were amazing. The props were as real as you can get. The "ghost" getting off of the stairs was an excellent illusion. It looks SO real. And the pitchblack maze at the end was exciting. Having to feel my way around in the dark was enough to actually give me a good scare. Anxiety set it, and I was that much more scared for the next area of the haunted house. It was neat. And the smells...whew! Had a realistic odor to me!
Costumes / Make-up: Very detailed. Excellent work.
Summary: I had a really great time. I went looking for a scare, and I got one. The illusions and actors were great. They were so real looking. My favorite had to be the end, when you come out of the maze and you are in a room with no door. I thought I was lost, until a guy came out of the wall. I could have died right there. You can tell a lot of time and effort went into this haunted house, and it is in a small town, which makes it even better for me. The building it is located in used to be an actual funeral home, so it has that natural feel to it. Without going into too much detail, there are some parts that had me believing they were real for a second or two. I left with heavy breathing. And they had a wonderful gift shop as well. I will be back for years to come.
