|Scare Factor: Low | Atmosphere: Good|
Visibility/Location: It is easy to find.
Wait Entertainment: There were a couple of actors wandering around, the best of which had a chainsaw.
Length of Event: 15+ minutes
Actor Performance: Poor- this is what really hurt this house. Last year the actors were great, but this year they were almost annoying. Some of the actors went up to our group and just started screaming relentlessly, giving our group very little time to enjoy the environments, some of which were very detailed and well constructed. In my opinion, once an actor has made his initial scare, there is no need to continue to harass the patrons until they have left one of the rooms. Also at least four different actors asked us "are you scared?" at times that were not particularly scary. Finally, the more actors there are in a single location, the less scary that location becomes due to overcrowding, and there were a few rooms that just had too many actors present- hence, no big scares in those rooms.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: It's a guided tour, so we didn't run into any other groups. The slow pace of the tour guide was appreciated- it gave us more time to enjoy some of the rooms.
Props / Special FX: There were a few cool animatronics. The Saw character riding the tricycle was very entertaining.
Costumes / Make-up: Average
Summary: Overall, this attraction was not as entertaining as I hoped it would be. This is one of three haunted houses I went to in one night, and it was also the most disappointing. Some of the actors just seemed too inexperienced. There were some very cool areas though, such as the improved clown room, the Saw room, the swamp room with the tall man, and one room where there appeared to be something crawling across the ceiling, although it was very hard to see.
|Scare Factor: High | Atmosphere: Very Good|
Visibility/Location: It's easy to find.
Wait Entertainment: None, but we didn't have to wait any more than 5 minutes.
Length of Event: 15+ minutes- much longer than I expected.
Actor Performance: Very good. These guys really seem to care about what they're doing.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Great- we didn't run into any other groups.
Appropriate Ages: Not for small children
Props / Special FX: I don't want to give anything away, but I will say that there is a hilarious prop in the Santa Claus room. There are also lots of smaller props throughout the house that are pretty cool if you take the time to look at them. A cross wrapped in metal chains comes to mind.
Costumes / Make-up: Average
Summary: This was a great haunted attraction. There was no wait, and it lasted longer than I expected. I thought it was a little sketchy at first because the short line consisted of nothing but little kids, but I wouldn't recommend this house for the very young. There was great heavy music playing that really added to the environment. The environment is definitely the best part of this house. It is in the basement of some shop, and you really feel as if you're in a basement- you'll have to duck and crawl through certain areas, which I think is a lot of fun. There are also some very entertaining scenes (my favorite involved a scarecrow) and props. You can tell the guys that put this house together are having a lot of fun with it. Everyone in my group loved it. Good work guys!
|Scare Factor: Very High | Atmosphere: Very Good|
Visibility/Location: Easy to find.
Wait Entertainment: Great- there were two actors walking up and down the lines, and they were VERY entertaining- see costumes/ makeup.
Length of Event: 15-20 minutes
Actor Performance: Amazing- probably the best acting I've ever seen at a haunted attraction. There are people you will see that are pretending to be animatronics that seem to come to life. Usually this doesn't work, but they definitely fooled me at this house- more than once. The voodoo lady, which I thought sounded cheesy, was an awesome actor! Good work! The actors in this house also really have their timing down.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Awesome! We didn't run into any other groups & it isn't even a guided tour! (which is something you barely see anymore). Plus, they allowed my group of 3 to go without any other groups, and this was VERY appreciated.
Appropriate Ages: 13+. There are some really messed up and freakish scenes in this house! I loved it!
Props / Special FX: Awesome props! I can't stress this enough. Every room in this house was extremely detailed. It was actually designed to look like a house too, which is my favorite type of haunted attraction.
Costumes / Make-up: Great! There were actually people who wore makeup under their masks to make the whole face blend together, and they also wore contacts that made their eyes appear to be strange colors. They really went all out in this category.
Summary: I am a haunted house enthusiast, and this is one of the best attractions I have ever been to. All of the rooms are extremely detailed and interesting, the actors are doing exceptional work, and the costumes are very well done. We showed up a little late, so the line was a bit long, but it was definitely worth the wait. There are sections of the house where you will have to duck and crawl, which I think is a lot of fun. I don't want to give too much away, but my favorite rooms involved a freakish child with a white face, a rat-like santa claus, and a bunch of deformed and mutilated babies. Haha. This house really pushes on the boundaries of good taste in a couple of areas- and I think that is great! Good work guys! I was impressed, and I'll probably be coming back!
