|Scare Factor: Medium | Atmosphere: Good|
Visibility/Location: A little hard to find as there are not very many signs marking the way. If you can get to Sidney though you can find Witt Park. There is a big banner that says Haunted Trail with an arrow.
Wait Entertainment: This was pretty neat. They had a big screen playing scary movies. There was free popcorn and hot cocoa. You could roast hot dogs over a bonfire for free also. That really helped with the wait. Afterwards we stuck around the fire to continue to hear the screams from the woods and watch the guides. They were all quite funny and a bit scary. There was one particular set of guides that were dressed very well and knew there parts! They didn't hesitate to start the scare early..I think we even saw them crawling along the trail once....
Length of Event: The first time we went thru our guides walked us along pretty quickly and it felt like it was about 10 to 12 minutes. We had such a good time that we decided to go thru again and we had adifferent set of guides. They were a RIOT! That time thru was a whole different experience and felt like 20 minutes.
Actor Performance: The "sisters" were AMAZING...I don't want to add a lot more of details because I don't want to ruin it...but all and for a small town it was good. Saw some repeat characters but they were the main characters out there so it was cool.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: We crossed another group coming in as we were going out (two different areas) but it was cool because the guides interacted. They didn't try to hide it.
Appropriate Ages: This ishard to answer...I wouldn't take young children as we had one in our group and the actors don't let up for them. If you intend to take young ones thru I suggest you be there directly at 6 before it is dark. I would say no younger than 8.
Props / Special FX: Very few special effects but you really don't need them in the woods. It is truly a Haunted Trail. What they did do was nice. Be prepared for small areas.
Costumes / Make-up: Several people in masks but lots of makeup. This is always helps as it seems more realistic. The guides looked great!
Summary: All in all for a small town non for profit group it was done very well. Keep in mind all these people are volunteers and jsut want you to have fun even if it isn't the scariest woods ever were else can you get free food, drinks, and sit around a bonfire all for $3. There isn't a better value. Loved the movies and hearing eveyone's experience. Seemed that each one was different...I give it an 8 overall.
