Visibility/Location: On the lake seen from lakeshore drive.... easy to find... just off of fullerton

Wait Entertainment: Timed entrance with waiting in a cafe setting with hot cider with or without rum....mmmmm good... so October ... Thats' wait entertainment... the waiting room has a dark and mysterious feel.... plus videos playing...

Length of Event: Long enough were we didn't feel ripped off...

Actor Performance: The actors had the patience to wait for the scare... but the real stare are the scenes which the actors integrated well into

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Broken into groups never ran into anyone else....

Appropriate Ages: We were a group of older adults but would take kids in a heartbeat cause they would luv it

Props / Special FX: Wonderfully imaginative

Costumes / Make-up: good

Summary: Fun...fun....fun... fun... a combination of great scenes, environment, playful actors and a location that already is prehaunted. It harken back to older haunts that we loved in the past. Were imagination trumps gore... a good scare was better than gross...not gore porn but things that kept you guessing. For the first time in my memory could I go to Chicago and see two great haunted experiences within 10 minutes of each other. The fear at Navy Pier and The Sanitarium. We no longer have to go to the suburbs to get the scares we deserve... now onto the elections and hope we don't get scared again...

Visibility/Location: It is easy to tell where it is because it is very close to the zoo and there is a big sign that says Haunted Saitarium. Just be care ful because the sign just outside the house has two sides to it. Enter and sold out. I would go in and make sure before you leave.

Wait Entertainment: Because we were the first ones through we hardly waited.

Length of Event: It was about 10-15 minutes long

Actor Performance: That actors really got into their character. A lot of the costumes were so cool!

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Because they let so few people at a time you won't run into anyone

Appropriate Ages: 10-100!

Props / Special FX: Some of the props were neat. Some of them you could find at a halloween store. The special effects are basically strobe lights and fog machines, but the way they use them makes it cool and creepy.

Costumes / Make-up: Alot of the costumes were amazing! I thought to mysel a lot where did they get those costumes and who does their makeup? It was great!

Summary: The Haunted Sanitarium is the best haunted house in Illinois I've been to it's actors are great and it's scenary is amazing. I would reccomend this haunted house to anyone who loves a great scare.

Visibility/Location: Unless you are from the city you may not find it easily. It is on Lake Shore Drive's Fullerton's exit. So look for parking and youll have to walk. Its in the building that host Shakespearean plays.

Wait Entertainment: You will have to wait outside before you buy your tickets. But once inside there is ampal space to sit and wait. There is a concession stand along with a TV playing a themed movie.

Length of Event: 20 minutes

Actor Performance: Actors stayed in character throughout the haunt.
Costumes were good. Scared many of times.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: The flow was good, even though we did run into the group in front of us near the end.

Appropriate Ages: 8+

Props / Special FX: The scenes were very good. Much more then I expected from a park district hosted event. Just as good if not better then some school/church haunt.

Costumes / Make-up: Costumes were great! They went very well with the scenes. Its alwys good going with a scary-berry person.

Summary: This is my second year in a row going there. Normally I dont do that since its the same as last year, but they did change it up a bit and so some things were unexpected. Would recommend if you live in the city and dont want to pay to much or go to far. Student ID discount made it very affordable for a family. And being by the lake is alwys a good thing to do at night when your done.
