|Scare Factor: Medium | Atmosphere: Good|
Visibility/Location: All the homes we toured were quite easy to find.
Wait Entertainment: None needed. No waiting to see yard displays!
Length of Event: As long as you wanted to stay at each location
Actor Performance: Most homes had no actors out this night. The one that did (Shiner family @ 1102 S. 11th Ave) was excellent! He startled me & I DO NOT startle easily!!
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: The homes we saw were very clearly marked as to where you were or were not supposed to walk to see the displays.
Appropriate Ages: Some were more "gorey" than others. Parental discretion should be used for children under 5 at some displays.
Props / Special FX: Best ones were the Duncan family, the Shiner family, the Horne family, and the Willaert family.
Costumes / Make-up: Only one home (Shiner)had someone outside dressed up & he was great! I had no idea it was not a prop until he spoke!
Summary: All in all we had a very good time traveling around St Charles & seeing the various home & yard displays. I would like to thank the city of St. Charles for encouraging its citizens to have fun with this holiday by having the decorating contest. The only thing that was dissappointing was that of the homes we visited (13 out of the 26 on the tour) almost none had people outside (even the ones that had won the contest for having the best live actors)and a couple of them didn't even have their lights turned on! I guess most of the families really put their "all" into the night that the city does the judging for the contest. I would hightly recommend that this event be visited on judging night for the most fun.
