Visibility/Location: Location is good.

Wait Entertainment: Wait entertainment is weak, not much here.

Length of Event: 15 minues average.

Actor Performance: Actors were very weak, mainly noticed young people working this event. Some characters were on cell phones and others cigarette breaks, breaking character was common and a very sad.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Bottled up traffic in the event, all taking a great deal out of the overall enjoyment.

Appropriate Ages: 6+ No high "shockers" - not much put into fright here.

Props / Special FX: Average props throughout the attraction, no special effects at all.

Costumes / Make-up: Costumes all work here, but nothing stand out. Mostly masks used by the people, no creative work here at all.

Summary: After reading some of the positive and negitive reviews I decided to attend this event on the last day. Overall the was very little crowd here so we moved through the event without too much trouble. Everything they had looked average but it worked and kept some interest in the haunted house. However note that this isn't a top rated haunted house and the votes above 7 are not correctly marked - employees or friends, too bad this happens! I think this attraction has possibilities and I hope they continue to work on it for next year.

Visibility/Location: Location no problem. GPS made it easy to find, howver not needed.

Wait Entertainment: Wait entertainment was great, with creatures walking throughout the crowd - both inside and outside the building. Food trailer with pop and pizza. Exterior music.. Mood is set excellent before you get to the door.

Length of Event: 15 minutes + Everything flows great throughout the haunted house.

Actor Performance: Actors did an excellent job, no problems. One of the best full cast supports I have seen this year - Everybody gave 100%.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: No bottle up traffic inside the haunted house, very nice and orderly.

Appropriate Ages: 10+ Lots of in your face shocks which could upset smaller children.

Props / Special FX: Props were all very well done and with high detail. No real special effects to speak of - a mirror extended corridor was it.

Costumes / Make-up: Costumes, masks and make-up was very well done, best I have seen all year. Quality to detail was excellent.

Summary: First year attending this event and it will not be my last. Very happy with the haunted house and its excellent support cast - very well done. Only weak point was the $3.00 parking which will be going up - shouldn't charge people to park their cars. Event is well worth the $15.00 to go through it. Nice gift shop after you complete your journey through the haunted house.

Visibility/Location: Not hard to find.

Wait Entertainment: Creatures walk throughout the crowds. Food shack with good quality hot dogs and pop. Surroundings jumping area and climb rock, extra charge for both.

Length of Event: both haunted houses take about 25 minutes to complete after you have entered. Slight wait for both events.

Actor Performance: Actors did a great job, no weak performances. No break in character noticed except for a mad clown which had to direct us off the rear exit door - which was poorly designed in a corridor with low light.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Traffic flows great throughout the attraction, very nice job.

Appropriate Ages: 10+ Lots of in your face shockers, which might scare younger kids.

Props / Special FX: Props were very well done a joy to look around. Not much in special effects.

Costumes / Make-up: Costumes and make-up was great, everything looked real. One of the better jobs I have seen this year.

Summary: This was a great haunted attraction and I will return next year. Everything went off perfect, no problems and everyone was on key. Love the chainsaw maze area which takes some time to find the quick exit - makes you think. Also; creature above your head jumping ontop various sets gets your attention. Overall I view this attraction as a very good haunted house and one of the top 10 in the state. The $20.00 price for the haunted houses seem somewhat high, however parking is free and there is alot to keep you entertained.

Visibility/Location: Location is the fair grounds area, large utility shed. Nothing to set the mood here, standard fairgrounds surroundings. Very little marks, but not hard to find.

Wait Entertainment: Wait entertainment is weak, some monsters sometimes move throughout outside area - smoke breaks and out of character.

Length of Event: 10 minutes average or less.

Actor Performance: Actors fair at best, break character throughout attraction. Some even talk to you as standard flow of attraction moves.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Lines move without problems, everything seamless and no problems noticed.

Appropriate Ages: 6+

Props / Special FX: No high impact props or special effects. The standard haunted house surroundings, nice work on bridge area.

Costumes / Make-up: All make-up and masks are acceptable, nothing stand-out here.

Summary: Went into this attraction because of the ratings on site, howver these fall far short. Ratings were done by staff and friends - this just don't rate up. The house is weak and the actors average at best. Surroundings are average with nothing to keep you grabbed into the action. The room with no exit is good and has possibilities, however the monster blew the trapped effect and little to keep the room interesting. The bridge and the skull man creature is the best. This attraction needs lots of work, as we drove off the monsters were outside on smoking break - just don't work.

Visibility/Location: Located in the same place every year, old building downtown. Location works here. Should have marker sign on major road outside Clinton.

Wait Entertainment: Leatherface moving around crowd with chainsaw, simple but it works.

Length of Event: 15 minutes average.

Actor Performance: Actors do a good job here, howver numbers are getting weaker every year. They needed twice the work force here.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Traffic flow is not guided here and people bottle up throughout the attraction. We had six times when we had to wait-out the slow moving traffic jams. Too bad because it takes away from the attraction - all triggered effects we off.

Appropriate Ages: 7+

Props / Special FX: Lots of props to keep you looking, every room was well done. No problems with the room looks, the detail was great. No actual special effects to speak of, scarecrow was manual triggered and off timed badly, the globe witch with rear mirror effect was weak, and the big closer chainsaw man was out to lunch.

Costumes / Make-up: No problem with make-up and the costumes, everything worked seamless here.

Summary: This attraction I look forward to every year and expect high results, however this year just didn't make it. The door man bragged about being ranked 2nd in the state, however this isn't close to a state rated top 10. Characters throughout the house did a good job, but the timing was off this year and the numbers were weak. Lots of attractions were not manned this year, so the flow of the haunted house was weak and lacking. The patron flow got bottled up several times which caused even more timing problems throughout the house. With this being one of my favorite attractions it was sad to see this type of performance this year. No high rating this year!

Visibility/Location: Located in the remote town of Berry Illinois, outside town limits - good location. Visibility very poor - no marker lights and no display road signs at all. Very hard to find unless you know location or use GPS. Nice road markers would increase attendance.

Wait Entertainment: Some creatures working the crowd and nice visual presentation on the tv screen shows the plot of the haunted house - swap area.

Length of Event: 20 minutes, lots of "action" within that time.

Actor Performance: Actors did a great job here, no problems.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Normal traffic moves somewhat slow and expect to wait, they have a great following throughout the years including myself. Recommend using the "speed pass" for the extra $4.00 - $12.00 total ticket price its the best deal in the state.

Appropriate Ages: 9+ There is some "shocker" action in the house - smaller children could have problems with the shock.

Props / Special FX: Props are very good and the special effects they use works here also. Some electronic action figures moving the jumping throughout. All professional quality effects here.

Costumes / Make-up: Costumes work great here, no problems noticed.

Summary: One of the better haunted house attractions in the state of Illinois here and for the normal $8.00 price its a deal. Everything moves fast within the walls of the haunted house, actual you could go through it twice and see different stuff each time through - lots of action here and detail is perfect. You can tell that a great deal of work has gone into this attraction and they improve it every year - the money goes back into the haunted house for new and updated stuff. Only let down might be no high action closing room effects, need some high impact closer to the house.

Visibility/Location: Loacted in the little town of Petersburg Illinois, downtown location in old building. Visibility is good after you know it there, no main street markers.

Wait Entertainment: No wait entertainment this year, badly needed and missed.
Expect long lines and some wait on this attraction, lines move slow. Speed passes are available, but limited?? No reason to limit "speed pass" but they do.

Length of Event: 15 minutes.

Actor Performance: Actors do a good job, however same guys year after year. Could use more people working the event, share the wealth here.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Traffic is guided throughout the attraction, no bottled up people. Everything moves along very well.

Appropriate Ages: 8+ No real hard "shockers" here.

Props / Special FX: Props throughout the house are good, but getting more dated every year. They need to face lift some of the props. Special effects are their "sell-point" and they do a good job here. I liked the new changes this year to the picture frame effects in the entry area and skulls on the organ pipes. Nice little updates and everything worked great.

Costumes / Make-up: Costumes work good, no big time creatures here. Basic and simple costumes.

Summary: One very interesting haunted house to visit every third or fourth year, too much of the same stuff every year. Surroundings haven't changed since 2000, it would be nice to see them open more of the building up - the upstairs is the only area used. Also the waiting room rocking skelliton and old television playing "Night of the living dead" was off - only waiting attractions off! Nothing here to set mood except the old building and the wall dressings, not even mood music. Summary; this is a nice haunted attraction to see and experence however far from a "shocker" attraction and I question the visual display materials of the state ranking. The overall size and the location gives this a average rating at best.
Excellent effects, but not a top effect haunted house.

Visibility/Location: Location is great, remote park location outside Springfield Illinois. Somewhat marked from the major roadside and not to hard to find. They have all the surroundings here to have a great haunted attraction.

Wait Entertainment: Great wait entertainment with a live DJ, moving monsters, good food, and two nice warm fires. Lots of nice seating and everything on a call list. A first rate job here.

Length of Event: Lots of waiting here, "speed pass" available. Actual event last around 20 minutes top.

Actor Performance: Actors do a good job, however the numbers get weaker every year.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Hayrack ride makes several short stops throughout the dark park setting. Everything moves along good, just not enough to see here.

Appropriate Ages: 7+ Some light "shockers", mostly loud explosives.

Props / Special FX: Props are very weak and getting more dated every year - same stuff and almost the same locations. No actual special effects, however some would be nice here. Wish more detail and effort would be used here, the setting is great and everything else needs work.

Costumes / Make-up: Costumes are all basic stuff, nothing big here.

Summary: Overall this has all the making for a great haunted hayrack ride however it falls far short. More of the profits need to be put into larger and more attractions. Same stuff used every year throughout. The wait entertainment is one of the best around, however the event falls short. Expect to see more for the $8.00 cover and forget about paying extra for a "speed pass" - keep the money. Hope to see more work put into this for next year.

Length of Event: 20 - 25 minutes. Nice and well worth the money.

Actor Performance: Actors do the job nice here, the white faced girl is excellent, as is the mad doctors. No weak spots, everyone did a great job.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Flow is great here, no long waits and traffic continues through very good.

Appropriate Ages: 8+

Props / Special FX: Props and sets were a joy to look at, everything went good with the "saw" theme. Lots of gore here and nicely done.

Costumes / Make-up: Costumes work well here, nothing cheap about this attraction.

Summary: Went into this not expecting a lot, but surprised to see the detail here. As stated everything works here seamlessly with the "saw" theme. The door room was well thought out and works great, for a minute you can get the feeling to what the mad doctor behind the bars is getting at - makes your mind work a little. Length of the attraction is good and very entertaining - price is great for the quality here and the work put into it. Will be returning next year.

Visibility/Location: Location is great, high in the hills of the little town of Marquette Heights, surrounded be trees and woods. Nice location here and works great to set the mood as to what is to come.

Wait Entertainment: Some people working the crowd in creature masks and dress.

Length of Event: 40+ minutes on the trail with no dull moments. Haunted house was about 15 minutes or less, but nice.

Actor Performance: Actors all well done and stayed in character to the letter. It been some time since I saw performances go off the clean and without problem, NICE JOB.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Haunted trail flow was acceptable with most flow good, a few bottle up expected as you enter other houses and buildings along the trail. Haunted House moves along good with no bottle ups.

Appropriate Ages: Most events on the trail could jar some younger children, age depends of the childrens reaction to shock. Nothing above average in age for the haunted house, most kids could handle this.

Props / Special FX: Trail props and effects are very good, lots of animated electronic professional props which pop off as you walk through the woods. This attraction has more electronic "pop" props than any other haunted attraction I seen outside of Chicago or St. Louis. Not a lot of special effects used on the trail but its not needed here. The haunted house has fair props with no actual special effects to speak of.

Costumes / Make-up: Costumes throughout this attraction are very well done and all detailes perfect. make-up and masks are all very high perfessional quality, nothing cheap here!

Summary: Were to start, the trail is the best overall trail I have seen in some time. The trail is nice and long (45 mintes plus) with 4 different houses on the trail. Each house event is very entertaining and very well done, highest quality possible. The trail is full of great supporting cast, no actors are short here. Everything went off exactly as designed and was a pure joy - might try again if I have time. Haunted house attraction is fair, but the main ticket here is the trail.
Extra hay-rack ride at no cost, but no a fright attraction here - just a nice dark ride throughout the little town and around a large grass hilly area. A very nice and enjoyable night here.

Length of Event: 20 minutes for attraction, 40+ minutes in theater area waiting to be called on.

Actor Performance: Actors good.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Traffic flow through the attraction is good, however theater wait too long. No reason for 40+ minute waiting in the movie section.

Appropriate Ages: 8+

Props / Special FX: Props are good and everything works great throughout the attraction. Some special effects used on a splat scene, however needs some more here.

Costumes / Make-up: costumes good.

Summary: Overall this is a very enjoyable attraction with a great location being an old theater. The outside actual lowering elevator is great and builds up the mood right from the start. The scenes in the basement area keeps you wondering what coming up every minute, works great here. The only problem noted was the extra long waiting in the movie theater watching an old movie.
