Visibility/Location: Navy Pier is obviously very easily seen from most downtown areas, however, this haunted house was located outside of the main entrance, with very few signs inside Navy Pier directing you out.

Wait Entertainment: There really was no wait as I went early in the season on a rainy night, but there were plenty of actors outside attempting to give the few of us there a scare. I would think on a more crowded night, it wouldn't feel so much like a bunch of actors lingering around in costume.

Length of Event: 10 minutes

Actor Performance: Actors stayed in character, but tended to jump for the first person in line and never leave any scares for those in the middle. we only went in in a group of 4 and we were still anticlimactically watching the 2 people in front get all the jumps while we followed behind.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: The night was very slow. there were 4 of us in line and they let us all in at once, so there was no threat of finding other groups.

Appropriate Ages: 12+

Props / Special FX: the final journey through the belly of a dragon was different - kind of gross, but also kind of campy

Summary: Being the 1st haunt of the year for me, I was expecting to be scared by just about anything. Unfortunately, I ended up just kind of strolling through the rooms watching the couple in front of us have characters jump out at them. Unfortunately, it didn't really scare them either. The rooms were pretty bright, and I'm a big advocate of "the less you can see, the better". However, I've been told that the Chicago Fire Department would not allow this house to go any darker. This is the problem with having a big city haunted house. It was also rather short. If you're already planning on being at Navy Pier for dinner, then go ahead and stop by after, but I would definitely not go out of my way for this one.

Visibility/Location: Very visible, you had to pass by the haunted house to park.

Wait Entertainment: very short wait considering how close it was to Halloween.

Length of Event: fifteen min or maybe longer.

Actor Performance: Very poor, they did not scare me at all. I knew when they were going to pop out, the actors were not very well hidden.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: not very well the actors did not move the people along and separate the groups enough. also the actors in the beginning were very rude and disrespectful not even scary just rude.

Appropriate Ages: Yes it was not that scary.

Props / Special FX: Not good props and the special effects were not put together very well.

Costumes / Make-up: Not very good, there were alot of actors that had the same costume.

Summary: This haunted house lacked a lot of detail that could have been put in to the house, the actors were not very good at what they were doing. The actors did not do a very good job at scaring because they just stood there not breathing on you and not doing anything to scare you. Nothing was scary about it.

Visibility/Location: Easy to see, right at Navy Pier.

Wait Entertainment: They had some pretty good flame jugglers and random actors outside by the line.

Length of Event: Seemed very short, maybe about 5 minutes. Seemed rushed.

Actor Performance: Pretty good, most the actors put some good energy in.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Good, it was pretty empty when we went so I don't know if that's an issue on a busy night.

Appropriate Ages: Any?

Props / Special FX: What they did have seemed pretty good, but it seemed like too much empty space, also, too well lit up. I expected more from all of the commercials, not to mention the 20 buck price tag. I've seen much more detailed houses for half the price. The second part of the house (the inflatable dragon) was totally empty with way too much space. The actors try to scare, but it's hard to do when you see them a mile away.

Costumes / Make-up: Pretty good, I feel like the actors needed more help with what they had to work with, especially in the inflatable section.

Summary: This was an ok house, just nothing special, especially when compared to cheaper alternatives with much more detailed scenes. The tour seemed rushed, it wasn't very dark, and it just didn't have a huge scare factor. It's worth checking out, just keep expectations in check.
