|Scare Factor: High | Atmosphere: Very Good|
Visibility/Location: Very easy to find. Local bank has signs advertising as you come into town and the school is on the main road. Well lit sign out front along with video projectors on large screen and windows of the school. Parking was right in front with sidewalks leading to and from the entrance and exit.
Wait Entertainment: No real entertainment but a restaurant has set up out front with food and warm drinks. Some actors coming through from break played along to the ones waiting in line. A tour guide with his camera added some laughs while we were waiting.
Length of Event: about 15 minutes, depends on how long you get stuck in the maze.
Actor Performance: Many younger kids that did a great job staying in character. Adult actors really fit the parts too. Creepy, gory, disturbing, they had it all covered.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Did not run into any other groups. They made sure to clear other groups before starting another.
Appropriate Ages: Probably about ages 12+. Depends on the child. There is a special attraction in a separate building for kids 8 and under that is open the same hours as the main house.
Props / Special FX: LOTS of fog, but it worked. Good usage of the building and what it already had in creep value. Lots of blood and guts that was very realistic.
Costumes / Make-up: excellent makeup jobs! the red demon in the fog room was very disturbing. Lots of masks but they worked well with the room, especially the clowns.
Summary: Fright High is a great haunt. Definitely a great addition to the Knox County haunted house scene. Everyone was very helpful and while there wasn't much wait entertainment there were a few scares and lots of laughs while waiting to go through. The haunt itself is well put together with a variety of scares from the creepy to the gory to the completely confusing and disturbing. The tour guides story really helped to sell some of the scares and the actors did a great job with the rest. LOTS OF FOG everywhere and it really set the mood. The maze was great and had us lost for quite a while. Wouldn't recommend this for kids under the age of 12 but it really depends on your kid.
