|Scare Factor: Low | Atmosphere: Good|
Visibility/Location: I drove past the haunt due to the low visibility of the signs. If I didnt know it was on that street, I would have just kept on going.
Wait Entertainment: There were no actors out side the haunt, but inside the cue line there were a few people reaching out from the broken drywall very lazily. One actor was also using a chain saw inside the cue.
Length of Event: The group I was with took about 45 minutes to make it through the event.
Actor Performance: Very low. It just seemd like if you didnt have a cahinsaw inside the haunt, there was no energy inside the haunt, mainly a lot of blank stares and standing in one spot.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: We did not see another group inside the haunt, so the flow was steady enough to keep everyone sperated.
Appropriate Ages: 10+
Props / Special FX: Several air cannon, and a few gas chains.
Costumes / Make-up: For a haunt that went pro because they didn't like the makeup at the other pro haunts, this was one huge complaint for me. Outside of the main actors(obviously told by their entrance video) everyone's makeup was completely horrible, and what made it worse was the blank stares the actors were giving the customers, showing off the bad makeup.
Summary: Overall, the quality of this haunt had me really depressed. I was expecting so much more, but sadly it just wasn't there. There was dead space galore, unmotivated actors, and not much to keep me looking for the next scare because it just wasnt there. In fact the only thing I really found scary about the haunt was the parking lot/outside entrance, but that's just because of the area, not something they did to make it that way.
I realize I am not easily scared since I have been in the business so long and I am not covering over who I am for that reason. I really did not like the fact that there were multiple gas chainsaws running inside an enclosed building. This is the first haunt that has really depressed me in a long time, and it was mainly because of the massively poor quauality of the actors. The group I was fallowing only got scared at points were a chainsaw was going off next to them. The whole haunt was driven by chainsaws. Poor show, and I really mean POOR SHOW.
|Scare Factor: High | Atmosphere: Very Good|
Visibility/Location: The location for this haunt is somewhat tricky since it is located at the back of a strip of buildings and a parking garage and not easily seen from any streets.
Wait Entertainment: Multiple line actors were outside entertaining the guests, and a few TVs were playing horror movies.
Length of Event: Around 20 minutes to make it through the haunt.
Actor Performance: The actors had alot of energy and were on top of their game through out the entire event. The only complaint I have here were the two actors about three quarters of the way through the hauntthat way just staring at people and pointing blue led finger lights at their faces reveling they were wearing masks, with no real attempts to to anything elset.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: The group I was leading(I admit, I should lead groups, I walk way to fast inside haunts) ran into another group in front of us.
Appropriate Ages: 13+
Props / Special FX: Tons of animatronics all over the place. and plenty of regular props to go along with the actors and scenes.
Costumes / Make-up: Costumes were mainly dark clothing, and the main portion of the makeup inside the haunt was was masks. This works for a haunt like this mainly because they are going with a startle scare haunt.
Summary: Over all I like this haunt. I love the fact that there really are not a lot of dead spots inside(areas with no activity). the actors seem to be doing very well with their startles, there was plenty to lok at throughout the event and they kept me entertained throughout.

|Scare Factor: Low | Atmosphere: Very Good|
Visibility/Location: For some reason, everything we used to get there said the haunt was four blocks south of where it actually is(maybe Mr. Tuxedo just wants jim to levitate the haunt over those houses there), but since I knew where it was and the fact that you just drive a few more blocks down, you can find it pretty easily.
Wait Entertainment: Who needs line actors when there is tons of crazy stuff strewn about outside the haunt, ranging from Jim's cars to the wierd little creations that he has all about the house and side yards.Thinking about it, the cars are some of jims wierd creations, but that shouldnt surprise anyone who has ever been out there.
Length of Event: Its like a time vortex out there, you can make it through in an hour or you can take three just to get out of the front room. We took about two hours.
Actor Performance: Wait, Jim's not an actor is he? the workers he had out there were cool to talk to, but Jim is just crazy...
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: I dont think there was ever a problem inside of this haunt with flow issues, unless there wet spots occurring in places where they shouldn't...
Appropriate Ages: 10+ but the show will become a bit more perverted with an older audience...
Props / Special FX: You could take the props out of most of the major haunts in Chicagoland and still not have enough to compeate with this place, there is just stuff everywhere, and he is always adding...
Costumes / Make-up: Who needs costumes with Jim walking around?
Summary: Seriously, in my honest opinion, this is more of a fun house the a scary haunted house. that being said, I would still prefer going here over any haunt.
I was asked Saturday why I go into haunted houses alone and not to be scared, its for the entertainment value. No where else I have ever been has matched the entertain ment value Jim provides his customers, as he will go five miles down the raod to keep everyone pleased. Now your probably wondering why I would be writing a reveiw like this for a haunted house that you were expecting to go get scared at, but this isn't that type of haunt. Think of it as the Guys from Shawn of the Dead redoing House of a Thousand Corpses, then having a tornado go through leaving traces of Oz, Beetlejuice, a couple of the european WW2 movies and all of the clasic monster flic creatures in as well...
The only criticsm I have for the haunt is Jim please stop covering over things so fast that you cant catch some of the older add ons... I like being able to find things that have been around for 20 years and not realize it was there the 5 previous times I was there, but then again, your wife has that same problem...
