|Scare Factor: Very High | Atmosphere: Good|
Visibility/Location: Huge red (neon) sign that says "Scream Scene" off of Oakton Street, so it's clearly visible. The location is also very convenient. Lots of parking space
Wait Entertainment: Even though the line can get a little long, actors come out and entertain everyone in line. They kind of give you a heads up on what's waiting for us in the House.
Length of Event: I would say about 7-10 minutes.
Actor Performance: Fantastic! I didn't really see any actors break character. There were a couple of actors who looked really young and that sort of threw me off because I stopped believing it. But besides that, amazing job. I LOVED the second half of the house. The actors get very close to you and in your face. The scares are out of nowhere and there were fantastic distraction that made us look in the other direction while the pop out actors could get us from the back. The clowns were frightening and the demon child was very cute and scary. The doctor/butcher room was really cool. Loved the pop out doctor at the end of that room. I got really dizzy though because of the strobes. It was also cool that the doctor somehow got to the next room right before us (secret passage?) and scared us there. Also, the two actors with chainsaws scared me to death, they were unexpected and really committed to what they were doing. But yea, actors were great!
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Pretty good. We met up with the group that was in front of us for a brief moment but were separated by an actor that was playing the crazed butcher (doctor).
Appropriate Ages: 10 and up. But it depends on how brave your child is.
Props / Special FX: I think that the props were pretty good. The designers could have put in a lot more stuff to make it more scary. It's still a great house though.
Costumes / Make-up: The costumes were great pretty much throughout the whole house. Sometimes you could see the actors "real" clothes and that kind of ruined the scenes for me at times. I suggest using some pins to cover up those little mistakes. But those little things were easily forgotten when I moved past them. The make up was also pretty good. It wasn't excellent, but good. Masks were also used a bunch of times around the house.
Summary: The beginning was a little slow but I sort of appreciated that the scares were building up. By that I mean that it started off with minor scares and went to big scares at the end. It was a little dark though and sometimes hard to see where we were going. The actors would sometimes accidentally touch me but they are excused because they did a fantastic job. Our guide told us to hurry up a couple times though... I didn't really appreciate that because it completely threw me out of the scene. Once again, the house overall was great but I enjoyed the second half a little more than the first.
