|Scare Factor: High | Atmosphere: Good|
Visibility/Location: This attraction is located in downtown Rock Island. I had no difficulty locating the facility with the address. The sign, which is attached to the side of the building, is not well lighted.
Wait Entertainment: The lobby and wait line are staffed by costumed actors who perform small skits and mingle with customers. The waiting area is decorated with both stationary and animated sets. These held our attention and were quite entertaining.
Length of Event: Approximately 20 minutes.
Actor Performance: I was very impressed with the actors' appearance, training and performance. Their timing was excellent, costumes were magnificent and they were convincingly frightening.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Patron flow was nearly perfect in our experience. After leaving the waiting area, we saw just one other guest... a teen girl who seemed to want to exit attraction quickly. :-)
Appropriate Ages: Skellington Manor is an intense experience and propably not appropriate for children under 12 or 13 unless they are very pragmatic. My four teenage sons screamed like schoolgirls more than once during our tour of the house.
Props / Special FX: This attraction has a multitude of animated props, live actors and detailed sets including a talking torso, a zombie dog leaping from a cold fireplace, a circular saw "dismembering" patients and a malfunctioning elevator (your group is inside the elevator). In both number and quality, the visual effects of this attractions are truly excellent.
Costumes / Make-up: Outstanding!!!!
Summary: The high admission fee ($12.00)demands quality, and I think this attraction delivers it. My four teenage sons and I will all recommend Skellington Manor to our friends. There is so much to see and experience that I intend to go back again this month.
