Visibility/Location: It was very easy to find. There is a CTA bus that stops right in front of it, and it was hard to miss with all the lights around it.

Wait Entertainment: There were 2 actors trying to scare people in line.

Length of Event: It took about 10 minutes

Actor Performance: The actors were ok. They stayed in character, but they were poorly hidden, and I was abe to expect a scare almost every time.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: We didn't run into any groups untill we got to the maze.

Appropriate Ages: 8+ but it depends on your kid.

Props / Special FX: There weren't very many props, but there were a few pretty neat animatronics in there.

Costumes / Make-up: I wasn't able to get a close look at the costumes or make-up, but I believe that most of the costumes were very similar.

Summary: If you are looking for a great scare, then I wouldn't reccommend this house. Although this wouldbe a great house to go to for a person who has never been to one before. My group had two young boys in it and neither one got frightened inside, so it really does depend on the person. I saw more teenage girls sprinintg out of the house screaming, than I saw 8 year-olds. It may have not been a particulary scary haunted house, but It is a good one to get someone started on them. To go through this house costs $20, ad I believe that is way too much for this house. It was fun, but it was not $20 worth of fun.

Visibility/Location: Visibility was pretty good. House was located in the back of a giant parking lot/warehouse area. Big signs in front on street.

Wait Entertainment: None

Length of Event: about 15 minutes total. Half the time was spent in line. So the house was 7-8 minutes.

Actor Performance: the first actor laying down the rules before going in the house was good. Other than that there were very few actors to be found.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: There weren't many people there, yet somehow we met up with a group ahead of us and never ended up separating from them.

Appropriate Ages: 5 and up...no one to scare you

Props / Special FX: There were a few good animatronic rock monsters. Aside from those the house was filled with dark hallways with nothing in them. There were a few halls where the walls were lined with skulls...those were cool, but nothing else happened in these halls.

Costumes / Make-up: It is hard to make a judgement in this area as there were not many actors at all. Those that were there had decent makeup.

Summary: This haunt is very heavily hyped and very expensive. It did not live up to the price or the hype. The house started with us watching a video about the sinkhole and the rules in the house. Promising start. After going into the actual house we walked into darkness. There was plenty more of that to follow. A few non-elaborate rooms and a maze at the end with two masked actors. After the maze we walked through some curtains and found ourselves in a state of puzzlement. We were in the bar/lounge area next to the entrance line. Haunt finished...nothing ever really happened. Very disappointing.

Visibility/Location: Just outside of the Chicago Loop with a huge sign at the driveway entrance. House located in a huge lot.

Wait Entertainment: Various actors interacting with the line

Length of Event: 15-20 minutes

Actor Performance: Good both in your face scary and creepy, quiet scary. Always seemed to be one around a turn, of which there were many.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Our group actually got separated as the back half got stuck getting scared by a few actors. Didn't see anyone in front of us.

Appropriate Ages: 8 and up

Props / Special FX: Great animatronic monsters and wall decorations. Craziest thing was the smells they used, a few rooms smelled like sewers and dead animals.

Costumes / Make-up: Well done, no obvious makeup and the costumes looked well weathered and realistic.

Summary: Heard that the DreamReapers production team took over this year, and I've been going there for years, schlepping out from the city. Very on par with that production, which is well done every year, and they brought that talent to Chronicles. Very convenient location and one of the few houses within the city, and in my opinion this years production is the best house in the city. Another cool aspect for the over 21 group is a cool bar near the exit of the house where you can watch other people going through the house on a monitor. They did right this year in bringing in the new production team, and they have great props to go along with great acting.
