|Scare Factor: High | Atmosphere: Very Good|
Visibility/Location: It is difficult to see when driving down lake street, I did pass it, but it was easy to turn around and get to it.
Wait Entertainment: The wait entertainment was very well done. They relied largely on an awesome make up job for scare factor, but did an amazing job interacting with people in line. Tailoring to the individual customer(which is easily this Haunted House's strong point)
Length of Event: Good length, not too long and not too short. When you go on a slower night they keep you in rooms a lot longer to make the house last longer which is fun.
Actor Performance: This is where Disturbia truly excels. Their actors are a mixture of people trying to jump out, people trying to be intimidating, people trying to be creepy, and a few who may have been there for comic relief. But every single one of the actors stays in character amazingly. No matter what I said to each of them they had a clever retort or a great response that fit the mood they were trying to set.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: This was my fourth visit to Disturbia(second one this year) and this was the first time that I really had an issue with patron flow. It was still nowhere near as bad as I have seen it in other haunted houses where it ruins the atmosphere though. There were just a few times that I would enter a room just in time to see them setting up for the next group of people, which dampened the mood. But the actors always seemed to notice an recover by doing something different and adapting to being caught. They also split up groups and send people through different ways so you periodically run into different people through the house which is ads a new level of fun.
Appropriate Ages: Not at all appropriate for young ages. The gore and language used in this house is not appropriate and you would likely have to leave part way through. Some of the rooms are also a bit disorienting so that may cause an issue with younger children.
Summary: I went to Disturbia in 2010 and loved it. I went back in 2011 and loved it again. 2012 I went to it twice so far. Out of all the haunted houses I have been to this is easily my favorite each year. This is one of the few places where the actors still largely interact with you. It is a lot of fun because for people who get scared easily they will go after you hard and really freak you out. But if you are a little more jaded about it, they just mess with you back. They do separate people out which can get some people really upset. My friend that was split off from us was livid, so they worked hard to get her reunited with us during the house and were very apologetic when that did not work out. There is one actor in particular who is absolutely fantastic, he is a shorter gentleman with a watch in a small room. He seriously did an amazing job of being probably one of the creepiest people I have seen in a haunted house ever, and stayed in character ridiculously well. That being said all of the actors did a fantastic job. The makeup and props and all of that were very well done as well, but really it is the people who make this the best haunted house I have ever been to.
