|Scare Factor: Medium | Atmosphere: Very Good|
Visibility/Location: Easy to find, just off of Route 16 between Kansas and Paris. Large sign in front and flashing lights. Parking attendants on site to direct customers with flashlights where to park.
Wait Entertainment: There really wasn't much for wait entertainment. I would say this area is their one weakness.
Length of Event: I think we were probably in the haunt about 30 minutes.
Actor Performance: Excellent actor performance. There were a few times that the actors did an excellent job grabbing my attention as a distraction , and then another actor got me. Everyone did an excellent job staying in character. They didn't overkill their scare.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Patron flow was excellent. We did not run into another group at any point of the haunt until we were in the maze. We were stuck in there for quite a while, too, before we did run into another group. The clowns in the maze were very interactive with us, teasing us when we repeated an area over and over.
Appropriate Ages: I would recommend this haunt to anyone ages 12 and up.
Props / Special FX: There were a few props that really stuck out. I think my favorite was the dummy swinging on the rope out back. I think the choice of music in the far back of the woods part added to the creepiness (I don't want to give it away anyone who has not been there) but anyone that has seen the movie that tune is famous for would see why in the woods, in the dark, the music just adds to the effect! Great job!
Costumes / Make-up: As usual, I think this group did a great job with costumes and makeup. The clowns looks great. There were a few people in the woods that looked like they really put in the time to do their makeup.
Summary: My favorite part about this haunted house is always Insanity Woods section of the haunt. I do enjoy the inside part - there was a couple times that I thought I was going to pee my pants from laughing at another person in my group getting scared. The actors have their timing down very well. There is alot of twisting and turning, and you never know when someone is going to pop out. Although I didn't jump inside, my friend did SEVERAL times. They DID get me three times in the woods. There were several areas outside that really wowed me. Great startle factor after a guy told us "don't go that way, they killed my brother" - I don't want to give away what happened, but it was another thing that made me jump. The natural creepiness of being outside in the dark, added to the well placed workers makes the atmosphere fun and very entertaining. I am never disappointed going to this haunt. There was a group of 21 of us that met out there to go through the haunt. Everyone in our group had a good time! At one point while we were lost in the maze, one person in my group tried talking to one of the clowns to identify who he really was - he did a great job staying in character, not revealing his true identity. I have to say the creep factor was the highest in the woods. The fun factor was highest in the maze. GREAT JOB everyone working out there!!
