|Scare Factor: Very High | Atmosphere: Good|
Visibility/Location: A little hard to find if you're not familiar with the area but if you can find the big casino then you can't miss their signs/bus down the street pointing where the event is located.
Wait Entertainment: Personally I like the outside wait entertainment just as much as I like the haunt itself and boy these guys never disappoint. I'm a regular with this haunt so seeing the two stilt walkers kickass in just about every aspect was no surprise to me this year. They had a few actors with chainsaws which is always fun to watch because people love running away from chainsaws. I believe there was a vampire as well who interacted with many customers including me and my cousin (funny dude). There was one actor who particularly caught my eye, he carried a hammer and shook/twitched violently as he grunted random nonsense/ran up and down the event, I've never seen someone so engulfed in their character. A live DJ was spinning tunes and handed out free items to the crowd as well! I never catch myself bored looking at these actors do their job. Great job once again here
Length of Event: 18 minutes
Actor Performance: Highly energetic actors, don't know where these guys get their actors. Some actors aren't as hyper in certain areas but make up for it by saying clever lines/keeping body movement creepy
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Ran into a group once but wasn't too much as an issue since they ended up running off screaming their heads off
Appropriate Ages: 12+
Props / Special FX: Nice props throughout the haunt, couldn't differentiate actors and props a few times. Although the basement owns a few props I've seen at numerous other haunts a million times, they place it/use it in the best scenery I've seen.
Costumes / Make-up: Always loved the mask these guys have had. Very unique and dark and all seem to intertwine as one. Makeup was decent as well, didn't see too much of an inbalance of makeup/masks.
Summary: I don't know where to start. Basement of the dead is everything you've ever been afraid of. A visual reality of all the nightmares you've ever had. Year after year these guys continue to impress me, they seem to have done a lot of remodeling this year and I've never seen some of these rooms in other haunts in my life. From gore, dolls, clowns, spiders, chambers, and just eeriness, these guys nail each scenery to the core. Didn't notice as much fog as I'd like to but wasn't let down by the actors in the room/props. Some actors are very well placed in the darkness and caught me off guard a few times. Rooms that stuck out to me were the hospital, spider room, and the church. Each set felt like it was it's own (if that makes any sense). Actors were everywhere and were relentless. Each set had great use of lighting to disorientate you. A few dark hallways were in the event as well but I feel like they needed more actors in them. From the moment to buying me ticket and leaving the exit door, the basement has kept the intensity high and actors on key. Overall I'd like to say that this haunt is and continues to be my personal favorite haunt to go to. Great job again this year guys.
