|Scare Factor: Medium | Atmosphere: Very Good|
Visibility/Location: The haunted house was very visible. The large vinyl banner on the side of the road along with all of the flashing lights helped draw your attention to it.
Wait Entertainment: There were numerous characters working the crowd. One was a dark clown and the other a werewolf of some sort.
Length of Event: 10 or 15 minutes total.
Actor Performance: This was hit and miss. The best actors were the line actors outside of the haunted house. There were a couple of interactive characters, but most of the scare attempts inside the attraction were of the hit-and-reset variety. I was at the back of my group, so most had already reset before I got there. That is one thing that this haunted house seems to struggle with... subpar acting. It was a little better than last year, but not by much.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Flow was pretty good. My group caught up with other customers, but I think they were traveling slower than we were. When I went, there weren't that many people there, so I don't know how they would have handled a large crowd.
Appropriate Ages: Probably pre-teen
Costumes / Make-up: Many of the characters were made up in professional looking costumes and makeup, but there were a mix that were just wearing masks and dark clothes.
Summary: This haunted house was visually stunning. Many of the scenes had two-story tall facades. My favorite new addition was the cave area, where it seemed that the walls wrapped around you. Kudos for the detailed sets. There were some cool animated props, too.
The transition from the one attraction to the next was more natural, as those metal cattle herding barriers were replaced with natural twisting paths and fences.
My problem with this place is the price. The base price for a Saturday night is $32.99 plus taxes an fees. I bought a ticket online and those additional costs totaled $5.8. So basically the haunted house admission was around $39. Regardless of how cool the sets look, that is just WAY too expensive for a 15 minute experience. Especially when their acting is not up to par with attractions that charge much less. Just not worth the admission price.
