Visibility/Location: Spook Hollow is located in the small village of Marquette Heights, main road signs mark the attraction ... Just follow the line of cars to the event, it's a large draw attraction .

Wait Entertainment: Lots of interesting stuff to observe while waiting in line, projection screens for entertainment, CGI effects in the windows of the mock haunted house exterior, and various monsters walking throughout the lines..

Length of Event: The event is hard to time out because there are various waiting lines as you pass from house to trail, various other delays throughout the trail... However; I would guess around 25 minutes or slightly more on actual attraction events ..

Actor Performance: Everyone tonight was right on their marks, no issues except the younger kids just didn't give it there best shot... As for the haunted house everyone involved gave there best, nobody broke character except one guy in the front section (room 2 I believe) who scolded a young woman with kids because she panicky reached out a touched a pop out prop - no harm but he did break character long enough to make a complete a@@ (censored) of himself !

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: The flow here is a real issue and after all these years continues to be, with one line after another line waiting to enter the events, literally 5 stops tonight after entering ... These issues really could use some professional help with this, they totally throw off a lot of the horror factor !

Appropriate Ages: I would suggest 10 years at least, there is a lot of in-your-face stuff here and a considerable amount of walking ..

Props / Special FX: The special effects are set to perfection, there are some timing issues however it's manageable .. There are CGI effects (getting somewhat dated) and a considerable amount of automation effects, there is plenty of activity going on inside the haunted house event - the trail could use considerable more...
The surrounding basic props are fantastic and there's more to see here than you'll have time to..

Costumes / Make-up: The characters makeup and costumes are perfect, they really have always excelled with this and this year was no different - very professional!

Summary: We attend this event ever year and have since the beginning, they have a reputation for giving you a great bang for your buck and therefore a very large draw from Central Illinois ...
This event has the numbers, however it would be nice to see some major changes (the house is almost exactly the same as the last couple years) in the house and definately more on the trail .. The trail this year was interesting with the more tight space (not recommended for people who are claustrophobic) walking through various low level and compact structures.. The haunted trail was somewhat intriguing (same as last year) however no automated props, no CGI effects, and somewhat lacking the usual sounds of horror effects - definately there is a much needed work here ! As indicated before the haunted house was very good, but in need of some major tweaking and explanation - this event draws big money and should be used to enlarge the house structure and expand the length to control crowd control issues, and definately more effort to create a higher tech trail ...
Overall, if you have never attended this event it's highly recommended, however if you are returning again, it's almost the same event as last year..
Also note that it's recommended to go with he Speed Pass ($40.00) to bypass a lot of waiting time..

Visibility/Location: this haunt was found by the sign at the entrance to marquette heights and look for the spot light in the sky.

Wait Entertainment: the wait wasn't bad there when it first opened so there was not to bad of a line and it at a nice pace. there were 4 actors line scaring there was a guy in all green in a gilly suit .. a guy w a burnt look on his face and a scare crow. and one guy looks like a orc with a huge sword. they would sneek up on you and scare you. and they were taken pics with the ppl in like i did see which is a nice touch. they woudl team up on some ppl and then go scare ppl. what i though was cool was the scare crow he looked like a zombie one good touch. and we was funny with the ppl and scary at the same time. good line scare ppl excellent job.

Length of Event: there are 3 haunts here m.c.manor took about 10 mins or so to get threw..spook-hollow the woods about 20 and m.c. nightmare about 15 mins or so.

Actor Performance: the actors were spot on for opening night. and well hidden. always in charter didn't let off you. the followed you some did.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: since go there early didn't run into no one.

Appropriate Ages: 12 plus for this because of the woods on how dark it was out there.

Props / Special FX: this place was very very detailed amazing on how they did the props and how they popped out at you when wasn't expecting it.

Costumes / Make-up: the make-up here and outfit were awsome never seen some of the make up done like some of the actors had dne.

Summary: this haunt was very good the detail here was well done. like how you went from one haunt to anthor. and waited in diffrent q lines it broke it up good. the mine was good wow its dark in there. amzazing job there. there was a part and could belive it a huge pirate ship no joke they had a pirate ship out in the woods huge never have seen that one dne b4 well done with that. this haunt was well done keeps getting better n better every yr. well done cant wait to come back next year to see what they bring.
