Visibility/Location: Located in the old Town Hall Building across the street from the old train yard, well marked and not difficult to find ..

Wait Entertainment: Nothing to speak of here, lots of loud music playing, however lacking the waiting entertainment.. Might be a better idea to provide some visual horror projections with sound instead of the DJ loud music - investment would be a much better fit !?

Length of Event: 20 minutes after you enter the event ..

Actor Performance: There is definitely some much needed work required here, most of the actors were questable at best ! This is an area which should be the highest mark here and it just seems the spirit wasn't there ...

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: The flow throughout tonight had some real issues, we actually encountered 3 major issues tonight with stranglers or timing issues with the various haunts throughout, totally unacceptable and there needs to be some major changes here! ?

Appropriate Ages: I would say 8 years old could handle this event, nothing too intense because of the actors ..

Props / Special FX: The props and various effects are basically basic to slightly above - this event needs to bring up the game here badly ! No CGI effects and nothing high tech to speak of, the basic effects here !

Costumes / Make-up: Costumes and makeup was average at best, there is a need to improve this badly..?

Summary: This was our first experience here and since the building is supposed to be haunted anyway, we really had high expectations of horror, however the building was the best part ...
They have the possibilities here to create an exceptional haunted house, even the location works in there advantage..
After you enter the building everything deteriorates fast, the actors weren't motivated, the effects were questionable and the scare factor falls off fast! The Devils Krypt theme falls off fast, there is literally very little to do with anything about Devils or the dark chambers of h--e--double-hockey-sticks (censored) it's just has nothing to really keep you jumping or excited throughout ...
I think this events has lots of major tweaking to do for next year !

Visibility/Location: Being inside the old Cicero Town Hall building this event is hard to miss. There are large spot lights shining images of spider webs and skulls on the outside of the building. It can be seen from a distance and you know you are in the right spot.

Wait Entertainment: Not much here to see. It was opening night and not much of a line so that may have to do with it a bit. There was a DJ in the tent area and one character outside who never even came by the patrons in line.

Length of Event: I would say about 20 minutes.

Actor Performance: Very poor acting overall. None of the actors knew what they were doing and the general theme was boo and yelling or screaming. One actor stopped and told my buddy how much he liked his contacts. At the beginning we ran into some security or other worker opening a door in the long initial hallway in the basement and the lights were on in that room detracting from the entire scene. He then shined a flashlight which completely ruined any atmosphere. Later we ran into several actors talking to each other and then when they saw us they started banging stuff on the walls. Another jail cell area we saw actors on phones and then they tried to put them away quickly. Overall I was extremely disappointed with this. They need training and roles. There was one exception in a red neck bathroom scene where the one guy and his assistant messed with us and kept a good back and forth dialogue while playing along with my comebacks. I told him he should clean up the mess before his mom got back and he said he killed his mother and then I asked if a corpse on the saw table was her and he said that was his sister! Very funny and well done.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: I would say that this was done well. We caught a group and waited a moment for them to move on and then did not have any issues after that.

Appropriate Ages: I would say 10 and up.

Props / Special FX: Nothing major here but there are a few cool props and special FX in the house that are large and expensive and in a cool spot. The zombie walls is well done in a catacomb area.

Costumes / Make-up: No much here. Makeup is mediocre and costumes are just okay.

Summary: Cicero has long been my favorite local haunt since I first checked them out about 7 years ago or so. They always do something different and change the house up. The fact that this haunt is inside an old City Hall that is supposedly haunted adds to its ambiance. However, I would say that Cicero has gone down hill this year. I have been to Cicero about 6 times or so and 3 times I have gone on opening night. Opening night seems to be a mistake because we walk in and they seem unprepared. Last year we went and ran into a guy carrying dinner and asked us if we worked in there or were going through. Very unacceptable. This year was worse. No fog in most of the haunt, most sound effects seemed shut off, and the overall vibe screamed with we are not ready for you but this is what we have so far. I can understand this from a new haunt but Cicero has been putting this on for about 10 years and you cannot have this issue still. You have to be ready when you open no matter what. Yes, opening night is hard and some stuff will not work but you cannot walk through the attraction feeling in the back part of your mind that you just spent your time and money going through what seems like a quarter of a prepared haunted attraction.

As for the acting and scenes I would say that Cicero is not living up to their old reputation. Most of the scenes were just okay and the acting did not fit them. Overall I am very disappointed but there were some cool things I want to mention. The butcher area is awesome and a very neat scene. It is a bathroom with probably the best actor in the whole haunt. The slanted room scene before that is also a great room. The swamp area is another spectacle of creativity and amazement and really makes Cicero what it is. I want to point out though that if you change the name of the haunt it should somewhat follow a theme. Hall of Horrors was just fine but now they changed it to Devil's Krypt. Aside from the monk area I could not see much of a theme. It seemed like random scenes. Also, the house being quiet in most areas is really cool but it is detracted from when you hear the props and patrons ahead of you and if the actors talk amongst each it gets worse.

Overall Cicero is a decent haunt with lots of potential. They have a lot of space and use it well mostly. They need to better train and prepare their actors and they should try to find a theme to follow. I still like the haunt but they need to be ready for patrons when they open and need to limit the amount of foot traffic by workers not acting in the haunt.

Visibility/Location: this is in a huge building you can miss it. its across from looks like a old train yard.

Wait Entertainment: the only wait entertainment was a d.j they had playing there was no line scare ppl last year we was there on opening night also like this year and they had ppl line scarign but just a d.j. with loud music.

Length of Event: the lenght of the haunt i would say it took us about 20 mins to get threw this haunt.

Actor Performance: oh now on this the actors were one of the wosrt i have seen. when we approached our first spot there was a person with a flashlight out. got to the 2nd part the actors were talking among each. n then bang a stick up against the wall to try to scare us. when we go to the jail part we noticed a big no no the actors had there cell phones out and was playing on them and there were lots of water bottles on the floor frm them drinking them. the actors here just looked at you.. there was one scene that did stand out to me that was the redned room with the bath room he played a good role along with his daughter the redneck claimed there was a tub with running water in it also n it smelled like a bad bathroom.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: there is one section where we caught up to the group ahead of us. but they went ahead of us fast n never seen them again so the flow was well maintained here good job.

Appropriate Ages: this haunt is good for i would say 10 on up.

Props / Special FX: the redneck room was one of my fav. and also the jungle w the rain is also my fav. part here. the redneck room was well set up i hop they keep this room and elabrate frm that room.

Costumes / Make-up: the make could have been a little bit better but all in all for a low haunt it was dne good.

Summary: ok this part i have to say something ok this place is called devils krypt. but inside it dnt seem like the devils crypt need to follow the theme if you call it that. the monk idea was good i like that part. keep the rednedck part ot fig. a way to theme in into the name of you haunt somehow. this place has alot of space if you could use it right would be a awsome awsome haunt but this was our 2nd yr goign last yr we thougth was much better this year was a total let dwn to us.
