Summary:
While
many haunted houses never really establish a consistent theme,
this attraction really follows through, with pirate-related
scenes, props, pirate characters painted on the walls and
related music soundtracks throughout the entire attraction. All
of the actors, even the ticket taker, were dressed in pirate
costumes.
Pirates'
Revenge had a couple of nice animatronic props, as well as
skeletons and other generic pieces, that were creatively adapted
to fit in within pirate theme. The only prop that didn't
directly conform to the pirate theme was the spinning
vortex.
While
one of the actors was very energetic, most of the others seemed
to be very low-key and unobtrusive. Walking through this house
seemed to be more fun than scary, which made it an appropriate
attraction for young children. Because
it is not overly terrifying, Frightmare 2003 "Pirates'
Revenge" is a nice family-friendly event.
