Summary:
Mayhem
on Mansfield is one impressive yard display. The entire
front yard was transformed into a graveyard, with humorous
epitaphs written on all of the headstones. But this event was more than just a
collection of headstones. Several ghoulish characters
inhabited the yard, including a rotting bride & groom,
"Scream", Dracula and other spooky characters.
There was also a
skeleton caught in a huge spider web, as well as a bubbling skull
fountain. Their use of eerie lighting and spooky music, in addition to all
the props, really put you in the Halloween mood.
And the
front yard was just the beginning. The props extended up through
the driveway, inside the garage and into the backyard. Even their
backyard deck
was populated with spooky characters.
They had
a nice display called the "Graveyard Of The
Stars",
which was a collection of Jack O' Lanterns sitting on hay bales.
Each pumpkin was carefully carved, to resemble the face of a famous actor or
actress. Elvis
Presley, John Wayne, Lucille Ball and Marilyn Monroe were
just some of the celebrities that were featured.
One
thing that made Mayhem on Mansfield stand out from the rest of
the yard displays I have seen was their impressive light show.
With flashing lights synchronized to Michael Jackson's
"Thriller", it was really a lot fun to watch. For the finale, a creepy
zombie girl emerged from her casket, and joined three
other "ghouls" dancing to the music. After the
performance was over, there was a round of applause from the
crowd.
Special
thanks to the Lindich family for their hospitality. This is
a great family oriented event. It is
easy to see that they have been doing this for years, as they
have accumulated quite a collection of props. Be sure to
check it out; This yard
display is really worth visiting!
