Summary:
During the day, this ten
acre corn field, with three miles of walking paths functions as
a regular corn maze. At night the monsters come out and
this event transforms into Jonamac Orchard's Haunted Corn Maze.
While the first half of the maze was fairly tame, the second
half was filled with assorted ghouls, props and mini-scenes.
Flashlights weren't allowed (only glow sticks or pen lights),
which really enhanced the spooky mood of this attraction.
On the night I attended it was nearly a full moon, which
provided just enough light for me to be able to traverse the
multiple twists and turns in the cornfield. If the moon
hadn't been so bright, I'm sure I would have needed some other
light source to make my way through. At various
check-points within the maze, there where multiple choice trivia
questions posted. Guess the correct answer and the sign
would lead you down the correct path... guess wrong and you
would be sent down an alternate path of loops and dead ends.
Even with a map, my group found it a challenge to traverse the
paths in this huge corn field. Another thing to
remember... Since there is a lot of walking required, be sure to
wear comfortable shoes.
Kudos to the folks at
Jonamac Orchard. They've really put together a great
family-friendly event. It is quite a value, considering
you get over an hour of entertainment for only $8! Keep up the
great work!
