Scream Haunted Adventure
Across From Long John Silvers
680 W Eldorado St
Decatur, IL 62522

Visibility/Location: This haunt is located across the street from Long John Silvers in Decatur on Eldorado Street. We programmed the GPS and it took us directly to the event. The haunt is located inside a warehouse, and there is a sign with a flashing strobe outside the events parking area to alert you that you are in the right area.
Wait Entertainment: The waiting area is inside and had some painted scenery as well as a large screen TV playing old horror films. We were there when it opened so we only had about a 5 minute wait.
Admission Price: They have to events here. The Scream Haunted Adventure and the Haunted Warehouse tours. They are priced separately. We attended The Scream Haunted Adventure. The cost for this was 10 dollars or 14 dollars for a speed pass. The haunted Warehouse tours were 12 dollars.
Parking: Free, but the parking lot is pretty scary. It is under construction and dug up. I was hoping we wouldn’t end up with a flat from debris. I would try to find other parking.
Length:

18.5 Minutes *
* = Since people move through haunted attractions at different rates, your time will vary. Note: The time shown here represents the actual time spent moving forward through the attraction. Time spent waiting in queue lines, staging areas, intro scenes, rules rooms and when traffic jams cause patrons to come to a halt, has been subtracted.

LPR: 6.475
LPR stands for Length/Price Ratio. It represents perceived value of an event, by comparing length vs price of admission. Higher numbers represent more value per dollar. Actual quality and/or entertainment value of an event are not factors in this calculation. Click Here to see how this event compares to others visited this year by the staff of HauntedIllinois.com.
Scare Factor: Medium-High
Crowd Control: We were there at the very beginning of the night and were probably the third or fourth group to go through the haunt. We had two groups that caught up to us towards the end. I am not sure if this was because we were going at a leisurely pace to see the entire haunt, or if the groups behind us were going quickly, or just simply because the haunt is so long. We were pleasantly surprised at how long this haunt was. But we had to separate ourselves. We ended up speeding up tremendously to keep ourselves separated from the other groups.

Summary:

This haunt started out with an actor inside a door that taunted the girls in our group. She had a microphone and informed the entire house the name of the people in our group that were afraid. So they were whispering their names throughout the haunt. Excellent way to amp up the fear in part of our group.

We entered and walked down one of many dark hallways into some scenes with lots of detail. One of my favorite scenes was the room that had old horror movie characters on pedestals. There were strobes going in the room and it was difficult to tell which were props and which were actors.

They had a couple scenes/hallways that were intertwined with each other but also had their own characters as well as shared some characters.

The haunt had rooms with lots of details and some really confusing mazes also. The actors and props were difficult to tell apart in several of the scenes.

This haunt had a lot of bang for your buck. It was probably one of the longest haunted houses I have been through. They had some shining moments, but they had one of my biggest pet peeves in a haunted attraction- little kid actors. The haunt has places to crawl, slide, dark mazes, great scenes, and a vortex, but the end of the haunt you just walk out of a scene down a long hallway to the exit. This was completely unexpected. We actually keep waiting and wondering if some actors were supposed to be in the hallway. We have been to this haunt in the past and will definitely go back.
