Reviewed By: Debra Parish
Visibility/Location: Good sized parking area (rock and grass) located near the front entrance, with a large flashing arrow at the curb. GPS found the location easily, however didn't notice any signage along the way.
Wait Entertainment: Wait entertainment for The Trail of Lost Souls consisted of a couple clowns moving thru the length of the line, entertaining the crowd, taking pics, and visiting with the kids. Although they weren't necessarily "friendly" clowns, they wasn't really there to be too scary, but more for "photo op" reasons.
Wait entertainment to the Haunted House consisted of a couple D.J.'s entertaining the crowd, two flat screen T.V's playing Halloween themed music videos, photo op props such as a coffin, jail cell, and wooden Stocks, as well as glow in the dark painted walls and laser/strobe lights for special effects. There were clowns in this area too.
Admission Price: General admission is $13.00 ($20.00 for a Flash Pass to the front of the line), and includes The Trail of Lost Souls and the Haunted House.
Parking: Free
Length:

Trail of Lost Souls: 9.5 Minutes
Haunted House: 12 Minutes

* = Since people move through haunted attractions at different rates, your time will vary. Note: The time shown here represents the actual time spent moving forward through the attraction. Time spent waiting in queue lines, staging areas, intro scenes, rules rooms and when traffic jams cause patrons to come to a halt, has been subtracted.

LPR: 5.788
LPR stands for Length/Price Ratio. It represents perceived value of an event, by comparing length vs price of admission. Higher numbers represent more value per dollar. Actual quality and/or entertainment value of an event are not factors in this calculation. Click Here to see how this event compares to others visited this year by the staff of HauntedIllinois.com.
Scare Factor: Trail of Lost Souls: Medium-High
Haunted House: High
Crowd Control: Crowd control was handled well, with each group being sent thru by themselves, several minutes apart. We did experience a bit of a merge in the Trail of Lost Souls, but that was only because the group behind ran to catch up. No merging was encountered within the haunted house.

Summary:

Winding thru the woods on an old dirt trail, loaded with special effects, loud booms, and plenty of jump scares, the Trail of Lost Souls is sure to get your evening started right. From the rotting corpse of a decaying horse to maniacs with chainsaws, evil weapon wielding clowns, and radioactive waste spills, the pathway to the house is definitely not for the faint of heart...

And then there's the house...

The setup of the haunted house was very realistic, some of the best I've ever seen. The walls in the hallways gave the appearance of real drywall, with cracking down to the studs, and scenic rooms done soo well, you kind of forgot you weren't actually in a real house. The Library, with walls lined of books and dimly lit sconce lighting, had a centrically located tarot card table moving and shaking all about, and in the Kitchen, a head boiling on the stove, with rusted dirty dishes soaking in the sick. In the children's Playroom, a life-sized porcelain doll taunted and teased, while a hidden passageway had to be found, and in the Funeral Parlor, an automated coffin played peek-a-boo, while an organ played for a grieving family seated in the pews. With body bags swaying from the ceilings in the Mortuary, and faceless mannequins filling the room of white, the Boo Crew Haunted House really puts on a great show. I really enjoyed this attraction!

Now for the down side... the wait was looooongggg!! But rightfully so... and worth the wait...

Thumbs up guys! Job well done!
