The girl that takes your ticket, helps set the tone for the house. You are in for an insane ride. After she takes your ticket, she directs you to walk down to the caged waiting area. A man with three faces greets you. He explains a short set of rules and then lets you into the house.
The first room looks like a control room that would be located in an insane asylum. There is even a poster on the wall that explains how dangerous each patient may be by color. The demon with 2 mouths, at first you can only see 1, gets you worked up with what you are about to experience. He then tells you he has to set off the alarm to let you into the house.
After the door slide open you walk into one of the dirtiest bathroom you will experience. Oh, and the smell, yeah try to hold your nose and not inhale.
The clowns, messed with you as you weaved through the clown area. Lights, colors, and bubbles galore in this area. He warns you not to taste the bubbles, they taste terrible. You have to try to move by the clowns since they are also weaving in and out of this area.
One of the last areas is the execution room. The design in this room is set very well. Dungeon walls with a large electric chair. The scare is great in this area. The actors were on cue and made it very uncomfortable to be in.
Down's rooms seem to be larger this year in the set up. There use for of drop down scares works perfectly. Add the large airbags that you squeeze through and the dark narrow hallways and it set a stage for a perfect haunt.
The actors all stay in character, whether you are in the house or outside. They never seem to break character. The use of masks and make-up seems to fit the theme of the house.
I have been visiting Down's Haunted House each year for close to 10 years. The house gets better and better each year. This year they have brought their "A" game! For the price of the house and the hayride, it can't be beat!
The prices of their concession stand and homemade baked good makes a night out in Down's easily affordable.
I would definitely give them a visit this year!
