Visibility/Location: Google Maps directions to R Acres of Terror are accurate, but return directions take you a different/shorter way. There was plenty of on-site parking, which looks to be in the yard of someone's house. There are flashing lights and a hearse parked at the entrance, making it very easy to find.
Wait Entertainment: When we arrived, there was creepy music playing and a guy following people in a straight jacket. If you weren't looking, he would come behind you and whisper in your ear.

Crowd Control: We were the first to arrive again this year. We were able to go through at our own pace and no other groups every caught up with us.

Summary:

This year was a big improvement from last year. When we first arrived, they seemed to be struggling to get a TV monitor to work, but everything else seemed to be going smoothly. At the start, you get a short speech about the rules and then sent on your way into the woods. The pathways are lighted with tiki torches making it easy to see, yet still gave off a dimness enough to make you mistake a person for a tree. The actors were all very well hidden in the woods and jumped out at the perfect times. There was a good mix of actors and props that looked like people, making it hard to tell real from fake. I was happy to see that there were actors at the bridges we walked over, banging on the planks and making us run over them. We came to what looked like a hillbilly camper area and were followed by locals yelling at us to leave their apples alone. These guys were awesome and very convincing! Just after that, we got chased by a freak with a chainsaw and he ran us right into what looked like a butcher shop, with a crazed man slicing up a victim. Returning this year was the 3D clown house and it did not disappoint. The actors did a great job at making us want to get out of there as fast as possible. The 3D effects were great and the laughs the clowns made are sure to keep those with a clown phobia awake at night. We started our walk through the field anticipating the inevitable jumps we were about to be doing. A wolf-man emerged from the field and was growling in a way that seemed very real. He walked up behind me and made a loud sniffing sound that sent chills down my spine. He quietly followed us making low groans and then all of a sudden, he was gone. Watch out for the caskets popping open and the undead trying to feast on you. Then it happened. The coolest prop of the night. A humungous hog head pops out of a shed, right in our faces and it was making these gruesome snorting and snarling sounds and made us all take off running. I swear this head was the size of a small car! This is definitely a haunt you don't want to miss! They did a great job of changing things up from the previous year and it will be exciting to see what they come up with next year.
