On Tuesday June 10th I attended the
Creatures Crypt Haunted House Auction in
Bloomington,
Illinois. It
is sad to see a
haunted house close its doors, especially one of this
caliber. I’m glad
that I had the opportunity to walk through Creatures Crypt one more
time before it was gone for good. According to Norton
Auctioneers, the company that conducted the auction, approximately
170 people were in attendance that day.
Over the course
of a few short hours, the entire attraction was sold,
piece-by-piece. Attendees
had the opportunity to bid on entire scenes, as well as many
individual items like static props, animations, set pieces,
costumes, masks and more. While
a number of items were auctioned off in a separate room, the
majority of the auction was conducted inside the Haunted House
itself, which was set up and operational, so bidders could see the
animatronic props and effects in action.
Below are some
of the pictures that I took while I was at the auction.
