| Overall Score:|
|Scare Factor: Very High | Atmosphere: Very Good|
Visibility/Location: Very easy to find. There were signs directing the way.
Wait Entertainment: This is a haunted yard so there's no wait time except to trick or treat at the door. There were quite a few in line at a time but it moved quickly.
Length of Event: There appeared to be shows by the actors at regular intervals. It takes about 20 minutes to a half hour to see everything.
Actor Performance: The actors are great. Great costumes. Besides tons of candy and age appropriate toys, everyone is given a glow stick for safety.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Although it's a subdivision street there were construction barriers setup at both ends of the block requesting traffic to slow down for the children in the street. The street and sidewalks were packed with people watching the actors.
Appropriate Ages: Very young children might be scared but the actors seemed to sense the frightened little ones and didn't bother them.
Props / Special FX: The working guillotine is quite large and very realistic. Everything is set up amidst an eery graveyard. The lighting is exceptional but dim enough for effect. The smoke was an added touch. There is so much detail and hidden props to find that it's hard to see everything in a short time. Visitors are allowed to roam through the display safely. We took pictures of our kids with many of the scenarios. There's a Laboratory with Frankenstein, an electric chair, the headless woman on a guillotine, coffins, tombstones and a crashed UFO on the roof with aliens. The sound effects are quite frightening. The creepy butler at the door that welcomes everyone was a big hit. There are many moving props and bubbling pots that added to the creep factor.
Costumes / Make-up: There were quite a few actors and several chainsaw guys chasing older kids and adults. Two actors were dressed in very gothic gear and one carried a very real heavy sword that sparked as he dragged it. The makeup was sensational. Very unusual costumes and frightening.
Summary: This will be on our list every year from now on. It is so professionally done and managed. It isn't your typical lawn display. This is an outdoor haunted house for adults as well as children. We were welcome to stay as long as we wished, interacting with characters and other visitors. It was very festive. There are lifesize mannequins dressed very freaky also. Almost as scary as the real actors. Cornstalks are used masterfully to set the stage, as well as excellent pumpkin carvings. It's the first time I've seen throngs of kids trick or treating an entire block of homes. And homeowners in this area were well prepared for the mob of kids too. We had the most fun here and it was all free. I recommend going after dark when the actors appear and for the spookiest effect.
