Visibility/Location: The location was a little hard to find if you don't know where you’re going. We turned our brights on John Deere Road and there were 3 banner type signs on the side of the road that took us straight there. At the end of the driveway there is also a very well lit sign. All and all it was pretty easy to find.
Wait Entertainment: There was really not much of a wait. They did however have two people outside that were decently entertaining. They have a guy at the front door that tells you the rules and a short story who was pretty cool and a guy in a grass suit that snuck up on us and scared the crap out of one of the girls in our group. So, I would say they did a pretty good job of entertaining us while we were in line.
Length of Event: It took us about 30 or 35 mins. When we asked at the front door, the guy said it would take us 15-30 mins depending on how long it took us to get out of the back.
Actor Performance: The actors did an awesome job. Everyone from the little clown to the guy who was very upset about Santa. There was also a very convincing butcher who while making us laugh actually was very scary. There was also a girl he claimed to be his daughter who was locked away in the next room. She was really CREEPY. Last but not least, I would like to say that I think the actors they have are very into their jobs and are great at what they do.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: I think it was great. We took our time through the haunt like the guy at the front door told us to and never saw any other customers until we got out and there was a group outside talking about the haunted house.
Appropriate Ages: They suggest 12 and up, I agree.
Props / Special FX: Some of the rooms lacked props however, others really made up for it. They have a very detailed butcher's shop, jail cell, spider room, and a section of the haunt they refer to as "Earl's". As far as special effects go, I was surprised to see the part in the haunted house that I heard them refer to as the spark room. I don't want to give it away but it was really cool. Also, they have great strobe effects in the haunt and didn't over do it with a huge amount of fog through the whole building like most others do. Also, I don't know if you would call the huge pit a special effect but it was very cool. The last thing I would say really caught me by surprise was the second or third room in the haunt had a really cool effect. This was also who I was referring to previously that was upset with Santa. If you want to know exactly what I'm talking about I guess you'll have to go see.
Costumes / Make-up: Most all of the actors in the haunt were in costume. There were a few that were in plain clothes with no make-up but it fit their part. All of the actors that were in the haunted house that were in costume were in masks. I don't think I saw anyone in make-up. Costumes could use a little work but I don't think they hurt our experience at all.
Summary: Well, I would suggest if you live in or around the Quad Cities that you check out this haunted house. They do a very good job of having everything that you expect in a typical haunted house plus the few things that I have never seen or never expected to see in a haunted house. We had fun from the front door to the back. I will warn everyone that there is a maze at the end that seems to be half the size of the haunt. However, they did tell us after we got out how much room the maze takes up and it is really surprising how long it took us for how little a room was that we got lost in. I think they really nailed the haunted house experience. They did not only scare us but they were able to keep our attention the whole time and actually made us laugh a few times with still being able to creep us out just as much. Again, there were a few things that I have only seen in their haunted house and was really amazed by them.
