Visibility/Location: Fair. Only 1 sign by the tracks.

Wait Entertainment: One guy with a long pointy nose working the crowd.

Length of Event: 10 min

Actor Performance: Very good and in your face.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Good. Never ran into another group until the clown room.

Appropriate Ages: 12+

Props / Special FX: Pretty good. Lots of details and smells in the room

Costumes / Make-up: Very good, and fit the rooms

Summary: This is another haunt I go to every year. It's slightly smaller than most, but packs a punch. The opening is the same as the last few years with the Hellevator. It seemed a little bumpier this year. Loved some of the props like the patient with the tube in its bottom. LOL! The X-mas room was nice with snow falling, and kudos to the guys playing Santa and the Elf. The Elf was so OBNOXIOUS and funny! No, I don't want to wrap gifts with you! LOL! Lots of scents and strobes through out the house. The clown room was set up slightly different this year and not as effective. All in all a decent haunt this year, but nothing spectacular.

Visibility/Location: Decent, A sign off the street and the 2 giant balloons in front of the haunt.

Wait Entertainment: A zombie outside, and bf/gf zombie couple inside working the sparse crowd.

Length of Event: 15 min once you enter the first room.

Actor Performance: Very good and in your face. Tons of actors in this haunt doing their jobs well.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Fair. We ran into a group near rthe end of the house and got bunched up.

Appropriate Ages: 12+

Props / Special FX: The props in the rooms are detailed and effective. The scents add to the atmosphere and are VERY noticeable. Notmany animatronics in this haunt.

Costumes / Make-up: Very good.

Summary: Not a bad a little haunt. I don't think it deserves the hype it gets, but it is decent nonetheless.
The opening scene this year was extremely lame with the skeleton explaining the house rules. Last year at least they had a scare in that room. The hellevator is back, and uneffective as it didn't shake that much.
The mirror rooms were very effective and disorienting. Very well done. The pig slaughterhouse with the pig soundtrack was loud and stinky. Nicely done.
Many rooms hadn't changed much from last year. The ones that did cahnge weren't effective, like the opening scene. It's a nice little house, and there was absolutley nobody in line when we got there. The price is decent, and I'll be back next year.

Visibility/Location: HORRIBLE! No signs anywhere!

Wait Entertainment: Outside no scares at all other than the radio station that promoted the house. The music they played was scary bad!

Length of Event: 20 min

Actor Performance: Top notch in your face! Ever actor stayed in character.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Very good. Did not run into any groups until the maze

Appropriate Ages: 13+

Props / Special FX: The DOD ALWAYS has the best props anywhere.

Costumes / Make-up: Tons of detail in the costumes. However, some rooms are so dark you can't appreciate all the detail put into the costumes.

Summary: The DOD is always my fav haunt to go to. I know they put a lot of time and energy into the house.
I'll start with the cons: My group bought the Ultimate tickets for $25 a pop. I remember we were in the house last year for about 30 mins with that ticket. I think we got screwed this year because we were barely in the house 20 min. Last year we wen through the 1st floor twice in 2 different portals. This year just once! I think somebody missed there checkpoint when you have to flash your wristbands and we were sent down a wrong hallway. If this is NOT the case and the event is only 20 min, then the Ultimate tix are NOT worth it. The group in front of us bought the standard admission and we ran into them in the cage maze. If the tix my group are for almost twice as much haunt there is NO WAY we would have run into the general admission group that were directly in front of us.
Another con. Gates didn't open until 7:20 and ticket booth until 7:30. Does any haunt ever open on time?
The location of this event is HORRIBLE. No signs and 20 miles north of the original location. Wouldn't it have made sense to move to the NEW fairgrounds or somewhere in the vicinity to take advantage of well to do towns like Libertyville,Grayslake,Vernon Hills, Buffalo Grove?!?!
The haunt was detailed well, darker, and had better acting. There is a reason you don't see Stilt man outside this year. The acting was over the top and in your face. Gone are the days of Jimmy being fried, Frankenstein, Excorcism etc. Dead bums alley was darkened and intensified with strobes and glitter. Bureied alive was clausotphobic as usual, and flip the right switch on the poor guy whose tied to an electric chair. All in all tons better than last year, but a slightly bitter taste in my mouth for the $$$ spent and time in the house.
