Visibility/Location: This haunt was located in a large covered structure in the middle of a shopping center parking lot. I knew it was there so I didn't look for signs andcan't comment on whether or not there were any.

Wait Entertainment: There were a couple of actors walking around. This is not a professional haunt so I wasn't expecting anyone to be outside of it.

Length of Event: 10-15 minutes, depending on how much you look at things.

Actor Performance: Excellent. From what I understand, all of the actors are volunteers and all of them stayed in character the entire time, even when we were finished with the haunt and talking outside. It was hilarious to see actors sneaking up on us while we were talking with one of the people who run the event...that's dedication to character!

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Good. We did not meet up with anyone else while inside.

Appropriate Ages: 12+

Props / Special FX: Several animatronic props, smoke and fog machines and many detailed setups.

Costumes / Make-up: Excellent. Each actor had a well defined costume and there were some really original makeup designs (some of which I can't mention so as not to spoil the surprise).

Summary: I stumbled upon this haunt last year when it was a free event held at a private residence. It was the first home haunt I had ever been to in my 20+ years of haunted housing, so I didn't know what to expect. Although the haunt was small, it was clearly done with a great deal of care, and I came away amazed at what a cool experience I got for FREE! This year the haunt size has tripled and there is an $8 fee, which I was told was to cover the insurance costs for the new location. Regardless, though, the haunt is well worth the price, as the set design is still top notch and the dedication to giving visitors a scare is still there. I am still amazed at the bang for the buck!
The haunt consists of about 8-10 rooms, all with differing themes. In each room there is a lot of detail to examine, which sets you up for some scares as the actors wait until you're distracted and then come out. Far from being the "shouty in your face" type actors (of which there are some, but in a controlled fahion), there are a numbero f actors who go for the "silent but creepy" approach, showing up behind you or directly in front of you and saying nothing, which really does unnerve you.
A particular favorite for me in this haunt was our greeter, who was dressed somewhat like a clown, but more like a character from 'A Clockwork Orange', complete with bowler hat. He greeted us opon our entry, then proceeded show up in several different rooms, often hidden behind something or wearing something over his face, only to tell us to keep going in a humorous way. This is an example of the care taken by the people who run this haunt to keep you entertained. I found myself laughing quite a bit when my friends kept getting shocked by the greeter's reappearances. The last time we saw him he was standing still with a bag over his head which he took off to tell us to "get out!" - hilarious and unexpected.
Kudos to all who run this haunt. It was fabulous last year so we made a point of going back on the first night it opened. It's well worth the $8, and even worth going back a couple more times, and demonstrates how it's not the size of the haunt, or the size of the accompanying hype, that matter, but the dedication put into it.
