|Scare Factor: Very High | Atmosphere: Very Good|
Visibility/Location: Right off Illinois Route 53 at the Ditka Dome--Highly visable. There was plenty of available parking.
Wait Entertainment: Got in within 15 minutes of entering the building. There were really creepy themed music videos playing while we were in line.
Length of Event: It takes aprox. 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to go through the entire haunt once you enter.
Actor Performance: The actors were VERY convincing! Make-up was great. Some of the actors were able to contort themselves to give the illusion that they were missing limbs.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: The flow was very steady--no hold ups. The paths inside the haunt flow really well from one room to another.
Appropriate Ages: I would NOT take a child under the age of 12.
Props / Special FX: Great strobe affects in spots as well as fog and smoke machines. The sets are very realistic, i.e., the funeral parlors, the mad scientists etc.
Costumes / Make-up: The make up was very effective and realistic--broken bones protruding from limbs, scars, blood and great Zombies. Spikes and hatchets protruding from the actors skulls were very realistic.
Summary: Highly entertaining, great actors with realistic make-up and awesome special effects.Truly creepy and a romping good scare. Great fun and great music. Like Disney's haunted mansion on steriods! Makes for a great night out for a scare. Well worth the price of admission. I loved the special effects such as the misty look they gave the floors in the cemetary room. One room that was decorated with colored dots had an actor in it that I wouldn't have known was there if he hadn't jumped into my path and screamed. The asylum portion was particularly creepy given the great performances delivered by the actors playing lunatics and mentally deranged patients. Very frightening to have the come up to you. Particulary freaky was the children's ward--grotesquly deformed looking children that begged you to stay and play with them. They had me totally creeped out.

Visibility/Location: Not hard to find here, route 53 at Ditka's, great parking.
Wait Entertainment: No real wait entertainment here.
Length of Event: The attraction took almost 15 minutes.
Actor Performance: The actors were fair at best, young actors that were off cue and not very scary. Lots of yelling with little motivation, they could use some real help here.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: The flow moved along ok, we had no real issues here.
Appropriate Ages: I would say 9 years or older here, lots of yelling and in your face.
Props / Special FX: With fog machines and strobe lights, nothing too stand out here. Could use more, automation would be nice with an event this size. The sets were ok but all standard props here.
Costumes / Make-up: The costumes and make up wasn't too bad, not great but it worked.
Summary: This was our first year here and we thought it would give much more for what is cost us, sorry but NO.. They have a lot of room here to work with, but that's it - nothing in some areas and weak at others. A few rooms were detailed not too bad, but it didn't have nothing popping out or anything to keep your attention to the effect, just weak here.. Very poorly layed out, they have lots of potential here and yet they failed to give the attraction what it needs - scare factor! We just didn't see much here to want to return to next year - we'll give them some years to work on this.

|Scare Factor: Low | Atmosphere: Fair|
Visibility/Location: This haunt is in a large sports dome and is visible from the road. There was one large sign advertising it, so it's not easy to miss.
Wait Entertainment: There was no wait entertainment of any kindon the night I was there, but it was their first night of operation.
Length of Event: 15 minutes
Actor Performance: Average to Poor. The actors were mainly teenagers, with some even younger. Their acting varied from those who were into their role and who tried to be creative to those who obviously were bored. We even encountered actors several times who were talking with each other and breaking character who didn't bother to get back into character even when we entered the room.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Flow was good, but my girlfriend and I appeared to literally be the only people in the haunt at the time we went there. Thus, it might be different when there are lines of people.
Appropriate Ages: 12+
Props / Special FX: There were a few detailed setups, such as a doctor's waiting room and some others, but none were memorable and as such I can't really recall any in detail. I believe there might have been a couple of animatronic props as well, but again, nothing that stood out.
Costumes / Make-up: Some actors had costumes (such as doctors and patients) and some had on prison wear, but most simply had zombie like makeup on. Nothing elaborate.
Summary: My girlfriend and I went to this haunt for two reasons - 1) It was one of the few in our area open on 9/30 and 2) because we got a 2 for 1 deal from Groupon. Otherwise we most likely would not have gone to this haunt. We wound up paying $35 for two VIP tickets (normally $35 for 1), which were wasted as there was no line to skip as a 'VIP.' In all honesty, this haunt was not worth it for half off, and wouldn't be worth it if we got half off of the regular $20 admission price, either.
This haunt has a huge space (70,000 sq. ft. to work with) but mostly consisted of wide open areas with nothing in them, a few sets, and corridors or the seemingly very common cage maze with strobe lights and mirrors. None of the space was utilized effectively in my view.
I had last been to this haunt in about 2005 and I seemed to recall that it was decent for the price (which was less than this year's price), but I might have been mistaken. It is relatively short, given the space they have to work with, and most of the actors simply shouted at us rather than attempt to be creative. After about 5 minutes, it became quite predictable as we knew each actor would yell at us to leave then get behind us and yell some more. One of the actors in the cage maze actually told us to follow her to the way out. We didn't believe and went the other way, but in fact she was showing us the quickest way out, perhaps to get rid of us and have some down time!
Overall, this was a disappointing (and expensive) start to the 2011 season, and a haunt that I will not be returning to. Sreaming actors and lots of dark corridors do not compensate for a lack of creativity and do not make for an entertaining experience in my view.
