Scare Factor: Medium | Atmosphere: Very Good |

Visibility/Location: Drove from 2 hours away and had no trouble finding the place except for the last turn. There is a large tractor with it's lights on directing traffic which I found confusing. No actual signs. Wait Entertainment: Wonderful! Many actors in full make up chasing and scaring patrons. There is a face painting station and the overall atmosphere was so great! Length of Event: When you pay you get 2 tickets. 1 for the house and 1 for a smaller attraction called "Insane clown maze" The house was about 30 minutes and the clown maze was about 5 minutes. Actor Performance: The girl who was the MC was screaming and yelling at patrons in line to be quiet while she talked and it was annoying and childish. The actors in the actual house did a nice job of playing the part. Most were quiet and didn't move. The actors in the dark maze only wore glow in the dark masks and were frightening. Patron Flow Inside Attraction: The flow was great until the dark maze. You can choose "easy or hard" and once you are in there you are lost. It really is a completely dark maze and that's when we ran into another group and the house lost some appeal. To many people in a small space made it more annoying than fun. Appropriate Ages: 10 and up. Kids will not enjoy the very long dark maze. Props / Special FX: The house goes all out on effects. The wait area is very entertaining with it's honking car horns and lights. The vortex room wasn't painted enough to make you dizzy or throw off balance but some rooms were a real stand out. The science lab,the prom, the stairwells. Costumes / Make-up: Make up was 1st class! The clowns were a stand out in the make up group. The costumes were very real looking. This made this attraction very exciting. Summary: After seeing this featured on Ghost Adventures we had to check it out. We drove about 2 hours to this attraction and for the money and the time we were more than satisfied. The setting is scary in itself out in the country and very dark. There are many actors and the owner on hand outside making the atmosphere very exciting before you even go in! Shout out to "buzz" an actor who was nice enough to take pics with our group! When you get your tickets you get two for 16 bucks.( there is an online coupon). One ticket for the house and one for the "insane clown maze". Upon entering the house you wait in line inside and there is a face painting station and an MC. The MC was rather annoying as she yells at the patrons as if we are children and insists you remain quiet for her while she speaks. I found this hindered the fun and enjoyment of talking with your group before you go in. ( She could just give individual instructions as you enter. When you first enter you have to walk back outside of the house and the reenter the building in another door. This is exciting because of the eerie quiet behind the building. After reentry you find a typical haunted house with rooms set up to be a zombie school theme. Most rooms were understaffed and not really scary. One highlight is the stairwells which are not decorated and it gives you a moment in the building itself. Very scary. The dark maze was the reason we will never return to this attraction. It is extremely long and difficult and after 20 minutes it becomes annoying and if you are unfortunate enough to catch another group it is very claustrophobic. The 2nd part of the house ( after the maze) was quite a let down too. Many empty rooms and no actors. There was a suffocation scene that was very exciting and frightening. Once you leave the haunted house( no chainsaw chase) you get in line for the clown maze. This isn't frightening unless you hate clowns. It's basically a dimly lit maze painted with neon spray paint and two clowns follow you through laughing and acting crazy. We laughed and had a good time with the actors who were awesome! Overall Asmore was worth the drive and the money and is sure to have something to appeal to everyone. I could do without the dark maze, and the air horns in the ears, losing both these things would ensure me as a patron for years to come. |
