|Scare Factor: Low | Atmosphere: Good|
Visibility/Location: Parking was mildly cramped, although that was expected for this large event. It was easy to find though.
Wait Entertainment: They had a few scareactors running around, and some good atmospheric props. And it's always nice to see the people being chased out of the haunted house.
Length of Event: 45 min- 1 hr.
Actor Performance: They were pretty lively, and energetic
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Good. No backups at all.
Appropriate Ages: 12+
Props / Special FX: Nice props throughout the haunted house. Great lighting as well.
Costumes / Make-up: Costumes were pretty good, and the makeup was great. Good quaality.
Summary: My friend and I love to go to haunted houses together and have a good time. For years her and I had been hearing about how awesome and scary Statesville was from people. We saw the $30-$40 price per ticket (we ended up getting the VIP/$40) and hoped it was as good as people were saying. But in the end, coming out of the haunted house… we couldn’t help but feel let down. For us it didn’t live up to the hype. The scares weren’t as intense as they are advertised to be, and it seemed like the actors were more focused on screaming into your face and ears than they were giving a truly unsettling performance. And on top of that some of the characters broke character as we were in their room. That’s kind of a big “no-no” for me.
The atmosphere was great, as was the makeup. The props and lighting of every room was a real treat, and for me these were the areas where Statesville shined the most.
Overall it was a visual treat, but visual treats to me don’t completely warrant that kind of price. I know some people enjoyed it, because I heard the screams and saw people running out of the house. But I sadly cannot give Statesville Haunted Prison as good of a review as I would like to. The scares were poor for me, and the actors really need to stay in character.

|Scare Factor: Low | Atmosphere: Good|
Visibility/Location: locations was good, right off of weber rd, across from menards, in the cottonwood farms,
Wait Entertainment: they excelled on this catagory, they wait entertainment was awsome, statesville wait area, really made you feel in a prison scene, and the actors, out of this world, entertaining and funny,
city of the dead entertainment, were ethusicatic and nice
Length of Event: statesville-14 min timed it
city of the dead-10 min
Actor Performance: actor performance was okay, i mean they were alot better in the past, the on acotrs they were awsoem was th eacotrs in line of statesville and city of the dead, the guy fluffy, was creeppier but funny, and the zombie that just looked at a rock and screamed, funny, and took peoples hat an dput them on other people,
and city of the dead, the girl with a skull mask veyr interactiv ei like her, the actors in statesville, was good, but they could of been better, in the bus and actor popped out to early, and werent into ther roles liek i thougth some just stood there city of the dead, more in your face and creepier, excpecially the guy who runs over your head when you go in between the air bags
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: patron flow,
statesville-very poor went in with group of 6 cam out group of 18 ran into to more groups ahread of us
city of the dead- poor- literally throught the whole house there was a line of peopel walkign threw they have time to spread them out
Appropriate Ages: 9 and up
Props / Special FX: props and special effect where awsoem to the warden always good flying over your head, to the electrical current, and citry of the dead actor levetates over the crowd very cool, and a big greature comes with a saw awsome
Costumes / Make-up: costume and make up where good, def perfect for the rooms
Summary: overall, i was reall disapointed how this house went this year, 30 dollars is alot but i had a buy one get one free coupon, liek the wait entertainment was the best out of the hous,e actors, interacting with the customers, gettign into there face chasing them and just being funny and creep, to ge tthe tone for the haunt, and going into a cell mad eyou feel liek in prison, and after the warden, wnet down hill from there, some of there actors where ethusiactic and some just stood there, and one of the actors 2 of the in the room with the girls wearign the gas mask, i was surprise to see this, the girls where texting on there phones, when we cam on i heard and my group told the other girl ill text you later an dtalk later then scream by then where where half way out of the room already, other cool this about this was the new clown room, bungee awsome
i will come back next year, but alot of young actors there i can tell after i saw in that one room two girls texting on there cell phone, and one other thing, two many actors in one room, doesnt get scary spread them out
CITY OF THE DEAD- this out was alittle better, but actors made creepy gruntin gnoised, awsome blacklight makeup,
def seen better statesville, i come back every year def wasnt your best year, hope u have a great rest of the season

|Scare Factor: Medium | Atmosphere: Very Good|
Visibility/Location: Pretty easy to get to from any direction as it is located close to large freeways.
Wait Entertainment: The wait was an hour and 45 minutes for us plus several waits after we got in. I think the ones they had were good but I could have used a couple more for tha waiting time.
Length of Event: 45 minutes
Actor Performance: they excel here... we have been to five haunts this year and the actors here are as dedicated as we have seen thus far.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: They are good in this category but not great. we caught a group and a group caught us but it really didn't matter
Appropriate Ages: A brave 12 year old won't have a problem.
Props / Special FX: Oh yea...this is a big haunt with a lot of money and man does it show. Big creatures, stunning electrical, The best use of the claustrophobia air bags that I have ever seen.
Costumes / Make-up: Again the inside show was well done and detailed. The only cheap costumes were the outside stalkers that didn't really bring their A game in the costume dept.
Summary: This is the haunt that everyone talks about. If you are a haunted house enthusiast you must go here at least once. We go to as many of the name haunts listed by this website as we can. None so far can match the size and detail of this one. They deserve to be the icon of haunts that their reputation has given them. Having said that however I was not as entertained here as I have been by several others. The Doctors scene is intense, brilliantly performed, and a site to behold. The Bathroom scene will have you talking all the way home. The vortex was sub par. Guys...add a couple more scenes to break things up! You clearly have the talent and the money! Still a very good show.
