|Scare Factor: Very High | Atmosphere: Very Good|
Visibility/Location: I have been to Shotgun Manor several times in the past. I knew where it was and there were these tiny little signs that pointed the way. The signs could have been bigger. I did like how the whole area was burned out and torn up. Gave it a feeling of being along an old dirt road or something.
Wait Entertainment: No Binky.. :( However there was a girl that walked around that was very good (won't spoil it for you) and a clown character that was very witty with come backs. He wanted me to go to his "candy van". Won't go any farther but it had me laughing pretty hard.
Length of Event: It was much longer being on the third floor this year. I like more when it is on this floor than the second floor. It took us 28 minutes to go through.
Actor Performance: I would have to say this is where Shotgun Manor delivers. The actors hit their marks on all scares. Won't go into much detail but I would have to say my favorite had to had been the girl that was in a long hall. There was a flashing light, one split second she was not there, the next she was in my face. I peed. My husband liked the air cannon.
Patron Flow Inside Attraction: We did not run into anyone, no one ran into us. I think it had more to do with actors knowing how far ahead others were and holding us up, interacting with my hubby and I until the next group was farther ahead.
Appropriate Ages: I would say that it would be good for 10 and up. There is not a lot of gore or blood (which I like). There is a lot of detail.
Props / Special FX: Both hubby and I LOVED the laser fog show (their time warp machine). It was worth the price of admission. Very cool experience. They also had the normal strobe lights, fog, sound, air cannon, etc... The tunnel is done well.
Costumes / Make-up: VERY nice makeup jobs. The clown outside had a mask and it worried me that they would not have makeup. Almost everyone I saw was in makeup. Kudos to you guys!
Summary: Shotgun Manor is one of those houses I go back to year after year. It has disappointed me many years ago, but in recent times they have really stepped up and put on a good show. If this were nearer to a big city, I could see this being a $20.00 or more ticket item. I would say that if I had to pick only one that I would more than likely choose them as they are consistently good. I also liked that I got a gift just for coming (a book that had all sorts of stuff in it) and a thank you card from the Ambucs telling me what the money being raised is getting used for in their community.
