Visibility/Location: Huge building. GPS and you can't miss it.

Wait Entertainment: None. It's not that kind of attraction.

Length of Event: 2 1/2 hours

Actor Performance: No actors. Not that kind of attraction.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: You explored on your own.

Appropriate Ages: Any

Props / Special FX: None

Costumes / Make-up: None

Summary: This is in the Bowen Building in Bartonville. They offer three, I think, types of tours. One is an hour long with lights on, one is 2 1/2 hours with only flashlights and no lights on(this is the one we did) and then they have a midnight to 6am tour. This is a tour of a historic, supposedly haunted building with flashlights and you can search for paranormal activity. It's really very interesting and we had fun. The owner was there and his family. They were very nice and interesting. This isn't your scream and run type attraction but it is certainly worth a visit!

Visibility/Location: Located on the hill top by the state mental hospital, not the actual hospital but the across the street ward. Once in Bartonville this isn't hard to locate, could use a lighted sign below the hill to let more people know your having an event.

Wait Entertainment: No real waiting entertainment here, you go from hayrack ride to the haunted ward event.

Length of Event: The hayrack was 10 minutes and the ward event maybe 20 minutes = 30 minutes. Waiting line wasn't long - maybe 15 minutes.

Actor Performance: The actors were fair to good here, some seemed to run out of energy before the event was really moving. They do have some people working this event, there is no shortage of monsters or zombies here, that was a nice touch for once.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Everything moved along very well, the hayrack moved along followed by the mental ward events, everything worked very good inside the attraction.

Appropriate Ages: I would see any problem with 9 or 10 year olds here, after you get through the location setting you shouldn't have any troubles excepting your faith.

Props / Special FX: Some nice homemade props surround each room, no actual special effects here.

Costumes / Make-up: Costumes and make up was fair, there was a few masks here but everything looked ok to me.

Summary: This haunted house mental ward is interesting, but still in need of some pumping up. The hayrack ride through the grave yard was fun, could use more detailed description of the ride and why not add some old lighting effects to the graves. The exit into the mental ward was ok, but the walk-in people had it better than the on-line ticket purchased, we moved freely to the front of the line while on-lines were moved back .
While this was my first year here (last year was year 1 for these guys) I think there is more work here to be done to get this to a high statue, it's fun by not really scary! If you take the history out of this event, it just seems very easy. Next year we hope to see improvement here, no excuses anymore . Also please don't hold up the people who order tickets on-line, they need to move into the attraction first.
