Visibility/Location: Since it is a haunted house, it is tucked back into a horseshoe type street that winds around to the parking area which is marked with lighted signs, arrows, and a parking attendant with a light. Then there was just a short walk up to the actual haunt. There were lighted barrels upon the roof which were flashing and added a great touch to this haunted house!

Wait Entertainment: There was no wait at this time, but there was a covered area under which to wait if there would have been a line which was great! There were also TV's showing video in the wait area. If needed they did offer a fast pass for an extra $3.

Length of Event: I was told at the entrance that it could take from 15 min to 30 min to go thru the haunt, depending on how quickly we moved or found our way. It was somewhere in the neighborhood of 18 minutes for us to go thru.

Actor Performance: Actors were great! They were all doing their jobs, in the right places and frankly scared us quite a lot!

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Flow was not a problem at all. You could move at your own pace and find your way thru.

Appropriate Ages: The scare factor was high enough that I don't think a lot of 5-8 yr olds would be OK with it, but for those older it is worth it.

Props / Special FX: There was a good variety of props, illusions, 3-D effect, and some pneumatics. Some were old school type but mixed in with new technology which works.

Costumes / Make-up: Everyone in the haunt had costumes appropriate to that scene and the makeup looked very professional. There were very few actual masks and they were not the cheap kind. It was sometimes hard to tell the difference between a mask and makeup!

Summary: All in all it was well worth the $15 admission. We had a great time! The haunt itself was well done and there were people gathered around the fire pit where we sat and enjoyed ourselves. There was also a food stand where we could get something to snack on and get a drink. Overall it was a fun time and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening! I would definitely recommend the Haunted Hideaway to friends and family.

Visibility/Location: After finding the event we followed signs to parking. The parking area was muddy, unlit and with no signs indicating how to get to the event. There was also no indication of how to park in the lot. When asked, the parking attendant didn't know how to tell us to get to the event. At our suggestion of walking down the road instead of through private yards, he agreed.

Wait Entertainment: There was no indication of where the ticket booth was and no one to ask. After we found it on our own we still had to ask if it was the right place. Very little decoration and no music or entertainment for people who may wait in line. The woman in the booth didn't ask if she could help us. We had to ask her twice if this was where we paid. Then we had to ask how to get to the haunt. Very unorganized and unwelcoming.

Length of Event: Event length was maybe 20 minutes. Most of that time was spent backtracking and trying to find your way through.

Actor Performance: There were only a few actors and they would talk to you as normal people when you couldn't get out of a room or you simply had to ask them a question. One actor said she had to tell everyone how to get out of the room she was hiding in.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: We came to a room with several girls who couldn't get out of the room until they put their hand in a container of cockroaches to get a key. I got the key, gave it to the actor and she opened the exit door. After that the girls crowded and rammed into us the rest of the event. There weren't enough patrons at the event to judge the flow inside the attraction otherwise.

Appropriate Ages: Appropriate for preteen up.

Props / Special FX: This event had one animatronic prop and it was broken and was not even lit up. We asked about it afterward and were told they couldn't get parts for it. It would have been nice to at least have seen it. Other than that and a few other stationary creatures the event was nearly void of props. For their 3D tour we were handed glasses and were told to wipe the water off of them. The 3D rooms did not have any spooky related items, just typical painted pvc pipes and markings on all surfaces. The entire event only had a handful of props of any kind.

Costumes / Make-up: I only remember seeing maybe five actors and their make-up was fine, they just didn't stay in character.

Summary: Ninety percent of this attraction was following back and forth maze corridors of either black plastic sheeting or scrap fencing that was haphazardly thrown together with no props to enjoy along the way. The admission price was very inflated and definitely not worth spending. We attend as many attractions as we can each year from small ones to very elaborate ones and we enjoy them all. We also drove over an hour to get to this one. Even if a haunt isn't great there is always something you can find that was good in it. This was our third year attending this one and we will not be returning. It was good the last two years, but must have changed hands. We have never been so disappointed in a haunt as we were with this one. We would not recommend this attraction to anyone.
