Visibility/Location: I found the event using GPS. The outside of the building was very plain (no signage), but they had a searchlight to help guide customers to the right location.

Wait Entertainment: There only wait entertainment I saw was outside in the queue line. They were awesome, energetic and interactive. Inside, I didn’t see any actors interacting with the crowd, which was a big disappointment.

Length of Event: Sadly it was only about 10 or 15 minutes total for both haunted attractions. Considering the high price of this event (~$30), it should be much longer. I also heard other customers complaining on their way out. Also, I want to mention that the price listed on their website can be a bit misleading. Depending on which night you visit, general admission can be $24.99 to $29.99, but that is just the base price. The website does say “+ tax”, but they don’t say how much. When you visit the 13th Floor, count on paying about $5 in taxes/fees, in addition to the base price listed on the website. Honestly, I think the base price is too much for the brief length of the event, much less adding more taxes and fees to that.

Actor Performance: This was a mixed bag. Some of the actors were on task, but the majority of the actors inside the haunted house did not do well. Some just stood there as my group walked by and many of the scare attempts were pop-outs that most were not timed very well. They either hit the front or the back of the group, so the customers in the middle (where I was) didn’t get any of the scares. We didn’t have any time to even see them. The actor sequence was basically “pop out from behind the safety of a set piece – reset – wait for the next group”, all within a second or two. C’mon guys… let your actors come out and entertain us!
On a positive note, for the most part, the costuming and make-up was awesome. The only exception to that were the werewolf characters, who all had cheap-looking werewolf masks and dark street clothes. They were definitely sub-par, compared to the other characters at the 13th Floor.
Throughout the first of the two attractions, we saw the same character over and over, which I thought was a clever and entertaining concept.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Customer flow was good. We didn’t run into any other groups; however, it was early in the evening, so it’s hard to judge how they would have handled a large crowd.

Summary: Unfortunately, they didn’t seem to make any changes to the attraction itself, compared to last year’s event. The first attraction may have been renamed “Feral Moon”, to imply that they changed the theme, but what they really did is keep the same cemetery-type sets and fill the haunt with a bunch of masked characters in werewolf costumes.
The sets themselves, though, are of unmatched quality. They are like something out of a horror movie and most of the sets were two stories tall. It’s about as close as you can get to the real thing, without actually being there in real life. The lighting level was low, but that added to the creep factor of the event.
The second attraction “Dead End District” was also awesome in detail. My only complaint with the sets in this attraction is that they went to all of that work to create this fantastic old-shack façade, with a winding rickety wooden ramp in front of the entrance… but leading up to all of that were shiny new aluminum crowd control fences. That totally killed the mood. The actors in this house were more interactive (which I loved), but unfortunately they seemed to be extremely short-staffed that night. There were a handful of rooms that didn’t even have an actor in them. We slowed down walking through some of the rooms with no actors, hoping that something would happen, but it didn’t.
In short, the 13th Floor is a visual marvel. The sets are Hollywood quality. My group, however, came more for scares, so we left a little disappointed. If you love detailed sets, this place is for you! If the actors had been more effective and interactive (less pop-outs), we would have enjoyed it a lot more. If we find a groupon deal, maybe we’ll come back later in October to see if they’ve improved.

Visibility/Location: Location was right off a main street in a industrial building, really easy to find.

Wait Entertainment: It was really good. The actors stayed in character. They also had an amazing wait experience with the different things you look at.

Length of Event: 25 Minutes

Actor Performance: It was amazing. Out of the many actors I seen, I think 2 did a poor job. But I think they went after the wrong person. They all stayed in character, and all there timing's were spot on.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: I went with a group of 4 and they sent us in by our self. We didn't run into anyone, only time we seen another group was waiting to go into part 2 of the haunt.

Appropriate Ages: 14+ This was a scary one.

Props / Special FX: Absolutely amazing. The rooms where breathe taking. We all walked into each room like "WOW" or "Holy crap". Amazing and time was put into each and every room.

Costumes / Make-up: Costumes were good. There was a lot of jump scared from dark places, and those actors had basic make up on, but yet again they didn't need anything better in my opinion.

Summary: From the moment I walked in this place I, an actor literally made me jump and scream.. I am not one to do that.
The line was long, it was busy at 11:30 at night, but we had the express pass from Groupon and for $20 dollars it was well worth it.
The house was amazing and I got scared a lot. The scenes were amazing and the actors.
13th Floor is nationally known and ranked number 10 in the nation by Yahoo. Trust me I can tell why it was ranked number 10.
I have been going to haunts for a while and this was the best one I have been too.
Please visit this one, it wont let you down!
