Visibility/Location: Champaign County Fairgrounds--a bit tucked away in the back of the fairgrounds in the livestock barn area, on the final turn side of the race track.

Wait Entertainment: A few small girls dressed up as creepy clowns or some kind of creepy cowgirl were really intimidating the younger patrons in line. It was fun to watch them chase the kids all the way to the road.

Length of Event: 15-20 minutes

Actor Performance: Very good! Love the gruff rule guy at the beginning, and the one in the corn. The latter gave me the biggest scare of the night. He and the unexpected chainsaw guy had GREAT timing with their scares!

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: We were allowed to stay in our group of three, thankfully not grouped with anyone else, and the attraction was self-guided, which really made for some thrills in the dark claustrophobic areas! We never ran into any other group along the way, and nobody ever caught up to us.

Appropriate Ages: 12 and up

Props / Special FX: They had some of the same rooms as last year, but I didn't mind: the hockey mask room and corn room, the butcher shop, the circus booth. All very well done. The thing that matters most to me is the darkness, which I find scarier than anything, and they used pitch-darkness to great effect!

Costumes / Make-up: Basic facepaint and your average masks and costumes.

Summary: This was my second visit to the Haunted Barn in two years, and it's just as good this year. I preferred it to other attractions in the area, because this was longer and you got a lot more for your money. Tickets for this were $12 compared to other higher-priced events, and the scares were better. There was a general better use of darkness and timing, as well. I love the atmosphere at the old fairgrounds because it's more remote and creepy at night. Note there is a $1 charge if you're paying with your credit card.

Visibility/Location: It's at the fairgrounds. GPS should get you there no problem.

Wait Entertainment: There is a little girl, I think, who was there last year and does a fantastic job. I have never seen her break character and she is persistent. Good job!

Length of Event: 15 mins

Actor Performance: Great. Everyone stayed in character and were appropriate for the areas.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Perfect. Didn't see another soul.

Appropriate Ages: 10+

Props / Special FX: Good.

Costumes / Make-up: Also good in this area. I liked Annabelle. The scarecrows are freaky and the giant pumpkin head is really good.

Summary: Better this year than last year even though some rooms were the same. I really loved that you can hear all the screams and scary noises coming out of the haunted house. At first I thought it was a soundtrack because it was so loud and there were so many screams, but it was really the sounds coming out of the haunted house.
My favorite parts were the teddy bears and the scarecrows. This is a good one.
