Visibility/Location: This event is located at Menard County Fairgrounds. We programmed the GPS with the address given and it was going to take us a little past the event. There is a sign along the country road alerting drivers they are headed in the right direction.
Wait Entertainment: We arrived at this event around 9 p.m. The line for the haunt stretched almost to the parking areas. There was one spook that was haunting the line but it was so long that we only saw him about every 20 or 30 minutes. There was two hearses parked along the sides of the line to look at while waiting, and at the front of the line they had a small concession stand with coffee, hot cider, and Terror at the Graveyard shirts.
Admission Price: The admission price was 10 dollars that is paid at the front gate. I did not see anything listed for speed passes
Parking: Free

LPR stands for Length/Price Ratio. It represents perceived value of an event, by comparing length vs price of admission. Higher numbers represent more value per dollar. Actual quality and/or entertainment value of an event are not factors in this calculation. Click Here to see how this event compares to others visited this year by the staff of
Scare Factor: Very Low
Crowd Control: You go in groups of about 10 to 15 people. They guide you in different spots throughout the event. The long wait contributes to the staff’s determination to keep the groups from running into each other.

This is the first year that this haunt has been moved to this location. They used to be an indoor haunt with a haunted funeral home theme. They are now a haunted graveyard. The event starts with your guide giving you the background story to the haunt and then he/she proceed to lead you to the trail.

When you get on the dimly lit trail you follow the lights on the ground throughout the “graveyard”. There are some scenes along the way with some actors and some holographs. A lot of the scenery consisted of tombstones along the path that goes in and out of the woods in the fairgrounds.

This event has some pretty harrowing paths for its patrons to trudge through in the dark of night. There are even some in-ground stairs to walk down. Most of the people in our group were trying to keep up with the guide and not fall which made it difficult to enjoy the details on their scenery.

The wait for the haunt was almost two hours and it was completely outdoors. So make sure you dress for the weather. With this being their first year I am sure they have some kinks to work through with the new location. I look forward to seeing them again next year. I am sure with some wait entertainment and maybe a few bonfires to warm up the while waiting to be scared, this haunt will excel as it did before.
