Evil Intentions Haunted House
900 Grace Street
Elgin, IL 60120

Visited: 09/30/16

Reviewed By: The Walking Ned
Visibility/Location: Evil Intentions is located in a warehouse in Elgin. The area is well lit, with a giant light in the area indicating parking. They have their own lot across the street from the event, and they have a hearse out in front with their logo. Beyond that, it is not easy to see from main streets, and I did not see any signage beyond the limited information in the front.
Wait Entertainment: There were several actors walking through the line, including a weird dude carrying a baby that talked to everyone in line, a monster that would scare people by banging on the chain link fence that helped with the lines.
Admission Price: $25.00
Parking: Free

Note: The time shown here represents the actual time spent moving forward through the attraction. Time spent waiting in queue lines, staging areas, intro scenes, rules rooms and when traffic jams cause patrons to come to a halt, has been subtracted.

LPR stands for Length/Price Ratio. It represents perceived value of an event, by comparing length vs price of admission. Higher numbers represent more value per dollar. Scare Factor: High
Crowd Control: Flow was very smooth, we didn't have people catch up to us until the maze part.

When we first walked in, we were greeted by ghostly maid who gave all of us name tags. That would prove important later on in the house.

We started out with a twisty and turny maze, which led in to a prison area. One of the actors asked us to press a button, which let you shock another actor in an electric chair, and then once you were led in to the room, the "dead" actor had its revenge on you!

That led in to another dark maze, which went in to an oil drum room, where the monsters liked to make noises that really scared you with how loud they were. That led in to another dark maze, which led in to a cage maze which was really well done. The lights would sometimes go off for a while, and you had problems figuring out where to go, and which way was forward.

After another dark maze, that led you in to another cage area, where the actors would climb across the top and try to grab at you, or jump down in front of you. You were then led down the stairs in to a creepy hospital area, complete with a dentist who was one of the creepiest dentists I have ever seen in a house. This led in to an insane asylum, complete with a padded cell area. The creepy doctor at the end will also give you chills.

This leads down a long corridor, which sends you outside to the other part of the house, being chased by a guy with a chainsaw. It wouldn't let everyone in our group get past without giving him one of our name tags, which I gave him mine. I won't give away much more, but if you don't like chainsaws, you will definitely not like this part of the house.

After this, you go to the second part of the haunt which starts out in a very smoky room full of hooded people. The fog makes it very hard to find your way through the room. That goes in to a strobe room, with other hooded creatures, which becomes very disorienting after the dark fog room. This then leads in to a church room with more hooded people. This then goes in to the collapsing wall area, which leads in to another maze, but the walls are in the shape of a coffin, which becomes very claustrophobic and confusing. The actors are there to help with the confusion, helping you get through the maze....or confuse you more.....

After that, they had a maze area with many twists and turns and the walls looked like they were part of a cave, which I found a little claustrophobic.

Normally, I would highly recommend this house as one of the best in the area. I am not sure if they cut part of it out, or part of it wasn't ready, but the haunt itself was shorter than it has been in the past, and I think the parts that changed from last year didn't work as well. The house has some good parts in it, I feel like it is not as good as it has been for the last several years.
