Mechanicsburg, IL 62545

Visited: 10/06/17

Reviewed By: Debra Parish
Visibility/Location: Oversized parking lot, both gravel and grass, located right near entrance.
Event was easy to find, GPS took us right to the location. There were arrowed signs leading the way as well as a large lit up sign at entrance.
Wait Entertainment: Trail of Lost Souls: Knuckles the Clown entertained the crowd, posing for pics and interacting with customers as they waited in line (outdoors). Beep, another clown, although kinda creepy looking, also provided photo ops and joked with awaiting patrons.
Boo Crew Haunted House: Indoor waiting. Large room lit up with black lights, and a live DJ, with interactive music videos being played on large flat screens. Knuckles the clown made another appearance, as well as a mad man in a straight jacket. Photo prop ops with Stocks and Electric Chair. Black light interactive decorations really make the room pop!

Scare Factor: High
Crowd Control: Crowd control was handled well, did not run into any other patrons while moving thru Trail of Lost Souls or the Haunted House. Several minutes spaced between each group. Flow was smooth and uninterrupted.

Trail of Lost Souls:

I really enjoyed this trail! Unlike some, it really does provide that feeling of wandering alone in some creepy forest with enevidable doom lurking around every bend. Scenes were done well and very realistic. The cloaked figures really creeped me out, my daughter swore she was being hunted by men in camo, and an evil bunny had my neice crawling around looking for escape. Loved the skeleton horse and life size props. Lots of jump scares!

Boo Crew Haunted House:

Very well done! Everything is soo realistic! Real books line the shelves of the library, actual framed photos hang on wallpapered walls, and the animatronics are insane! Furniture moves, fixtures shake, and there's a real working Elevator (although quite sketchy) promising to transport its victims into the realm of terror below. The props were awesome too! There were brains boiling on the stove in the kitchen, bodies chilling on drawers in the morgue, and a feces filled bathroom for a true grossed out experience. I loved the AHS theme, the posters and music really made me feel like I was on the set of Freakshow. Lots of jump scares. We really enjoyed this venue all the way around.

*Bon fire and merch booth upon exit.
