The house starts out in an industrial area with beat up cars, and some actors banging around causing some loud noises and some good scares. It then leads in to a scary doctor's office, which is one I never want to visit!
This then leads in to scary dark maze, which I had trouble figuring out where to go, with some good scares throughout. They seem to pop out very well. This then leads to a towing yard, where you had to weave around some cars again, which gave some good opportunities for people to pop out and scare you. There were some actors in this area with gas masks that were genuinely creepy. This then led to another dark maze, with some more good pop outs from the actors.
Next part was your house scene, with really good rooms, with some great details. The first part was the foyer which led into the living room. This inevitably led in to one of the dirtiest kitchens I have ever seen in a house, the attention to detail was extraordinary. We did have an actor following us throughout the house, making sure we were never alone. Next area was covered in fake bugs, guaranteed to give you the creepy crawlies.
Next area was kind of butcher shop, where there were several dead bodies hanging from the ceiling, seeing those, as well as the butcher character, worked really well, even through the next corridor, where several more bodies were hanging from the ceiling. This led into another dark corridor, covered in some kind of material, possibly caulk stretched out to look like moss or cobwebs.
After that, was another industrial area with lots of oil drums, perfect for hiding behind or banging, either way, always a good scare. After the initial area, we went through some rooms where we expected something to happen, but nothing popped out. We did have a room after that with a giant spider web, where someone was begging us to save her from a giant spider, that never seemed to show up. This led in to another dark corridor, which led to one of my favorite parts of this house, a stop on the Red Line. The accuracy they have for both what a train stop looks like, as well as walking through a replica train car, is always one of my highlights, the attention for detail throughout this part is always amazing.
The next part after that is another dark corridor, where they are pumping a lot of fog and haze to give the area a very atmospheric look. It also made it very hard to get through the end of the house and the surprise that waits for you at the end!
The second house begins walking into darkness. The first part of the house is a school setting, starting with a not so yummy looking cafeteria, stock full of foods you would never want to eat! The person preparing the "meals" is someone you would never want making your food. This led down a locker room hallway, and into a classroom, with students you would never want to meet.
This led down another locker room corridor, which led to some of the worst bathroom stalls you have ever seen. After that was several more different school rooms, including another classroom, as well as a photo dark room, which was very dark and very creepy.
The next part had a carnival setting, and, let's just say, if you don't like clowns, you will not like this part of the house. I did enjoy the clown maze, which was very colorful, and had the red and white plastic strips hanging down to make which way to go extremely confusing. Next area was a blacklight area, where the walls are covered with fluorescent paint, giving everything a glow in the dark effect.
Next part had corridors covered in mirrors, so that it looked more a maze than it actually was. The problem was still, with the walls covered in mirrors, it was very hard to figure our way out. After this, you go back in to the school, which included a auditorium area where actors sitting on the benches were ready to scare you.
Next was a strobe light area, which led into a little maze area that should have been simple, but with the strobes it was very hard to figure out where to go. I enjoyed this part because I always find strobes to be really effective at throwing people off. After this, was a very well done cemetery area, with actors ready to pop out at you after getting your eyesight adjusted after the strobe area.
You then go back into the school area, walking through a classroom and a library, and my group expected more things to happen in this area, but there was no evil librarian or anything to pop out at you. There was a library strobe area after this which really through off my eyesight, especially since I just got it back. This led to the boiler room, with a bunch more of the oil drums, and more loud noises.
Overall, I enjoyed the house. The rooms are all really well put together, the attention to detail throughout is nothing short of extraordinary. There were several rooms that had nothing going on in them, which I chalked up to opening weekend, where maybe not all of the actors were hired yet. I am positive within a week or two they will be up to full strength, and have plenty of actors to pop out and scare everyone!
