Summary:
Central Illinois proved this year it can hang with the big city haunts! Spook Hollow brought movie-realistic sets, with high quality actors, and top quality waiting areas. This is a well-established haunt in the area and this year I saw why. The projected scary movies, music, and actors, made waiting a fun experience that flew by. The sets were as much fun to look at as they were to walk through and experience. They made me feel like I was walking through every scary movie, set by set. This haunt hit the full gambit of horror staples along the way. There were butcher rooms, zombies, demons, slashers, and even animatronic scares around every corner. Mixing the high quality sets inside with the dark haunted trails, made it a unique experience. There were almost too many memorable moments to only pinpoint a few. My favorites were a laser room with ghouls appearing from the misty floor, out of nowhere, and a spark wielding demon straight out of a saw blade version of Hellraiser. The walkthrough was very smooth and the actors were over the top and intense. Spook Hollow was scary, for children and most of the adults as well. They are making themselves a behemoth in the haunting world and they are earning every bit of acclaim they have accumulated. I will be returning, perhaps again this season. I recommend everyone from first timers to hard core enthusiasts, give this haunt a try!
